On day 1 I got 2 copies of the game and I'm so glad I did. Before the game released I had already obsessed over my town layout so much that I'd taken the huge River Layout possibiliies diagram and drawn on each one where I'd want my Plaza, re-tail, town hall, house, coffee shop, police station and bridges for each layout. Then chose the ones I liked most and crazily reset for something perfect.
My town doesn't even resemble what I reset for now. But I'm keeping it as my main one and I'm going to play it until my eyes are streaming and I've done everything. Then I have an alt town that is more perfect that I don't play much, (plans to adopt it when I want a do-over in a year or so) and from the welcome a friend promotion I got a digital copy just for resetting.
