Quit the game before it autosaves and play the game again until he decides to perform a blood sacrifice on someone you don't love.

I am sure you know, but you can easily adopt most villagers in here. Too bad you did not get to make the camper move in though ^^; I went through 150 NMTs looking for Chrissy (peppy rabbit), and then I just decided to adopt her through a service. Lol. There are many great villagers though, so maybe you will find another good camper sometime, if adopting is not for you.

As others said you could've quit the game and restart so the villager would pick someone else besides your favorite, but it seems like its too late. Please remember this the next time this happens to you.
