How to get a plot open fast!!!????

Travel to the next day, see who pings with the clouds, if its not who you want save and exit, skip ahead a month, check who it is next, and rinse and repeat, it'll take a while... its RNG :[
I've been using a pretty good method.
1) TT forward 1month and 1 day
2) save and end
3) TT backwards 1 month
4) you'll have 2 minutes to run around and see who has a thought bubble. If it's not the villager you want, quit without saving. Don't push past the 2 min or it wont work
5) TT forward 1 day
6) Repeat steps 4 and 5 until the targeted villager asks to leave
Worked within 15 min everytime I did it
