Does each section have a specific category, or is it all just shoved in there randomly?

My first section is mainly saplings, bush starts, fruits, and flowers, and the second is a chaos of random items. The third is all furniture.

i have all my items at the very back of the storage, organized by tools, clothes, and furniture
i sometimes take them out and throw them on the ground for turnip storage

It's kind of organized... a little... I did have it pretty organized at one point, but as I sold off things and got more stuff it kind of became a mess. I do try to keep certain things together though.

First section for me has saplings & fruit, second has bush starts, third has unorderables. :)
I don't like to keep orderable furnature in my storage, seems like a waste of space.

Mine always starts out hyper-organized, but then I get sloppy. A is always furniture/fossils and bugs for villagers, B is clothing with B1 costumes and the other two a huge mess, and C is full of tools/special things/medicine. I keep unorderables in my museum space.

Pretty organized I suppose.
A is usually all the clothes.. Shoes get there own page, as do shirts, pants, dresses.
B is usually various furniture pieces that I want in my house but haven't found a spot for yet.
C is various random items. Spare tools, fruit, bush starts.

Everything I don't need immediately or have a use for goes into the museum.
I hate not having room in my storage for new things.

Oh, my OCD keeps me super organized. I even keep my pockets organized (I know... wth?)

A - clothes
First slot - pants, second - shirts, etc...

B - furniture; wallpapers first, then carpets, and the remaining pages are sets I haven't completed yet

C - tools on page 1, DLC on page 2-4, villager pics on the remaining pages.

I honestly make sure DAILY that everything is in a "good" place.

It should be organized. The first section should be excess tools, and some Streetpass items like beans, ice cream, pinwheels, etc...No balloons though because I don't like those. I think I had feathers and some specific clothes.

The second section is all Saharah items. Wallpaper and Carpets are paired up.

The third section is pretty much items that I should sell off because I no longer need them.

Pretty much everything else goes to my secondary characters' storage or my museum. I've managed to store a lot.

Mine is great! My blue is for furniture and general stuff, though 1/6 is all for handhelds! My yellow is for shoes, then socks, and the rest is pear or random item storage. Finally, pink is for clothes! I keep each one in its own little section.
Thank god for the museum, because half of it was balloons.

First section is furniture, second section is clothing, and third section are landscaping supplies.

Within the sections though, it's a complete mess. Sets are scattered around, my bushes/flowers aren't organized, and my clothing are all over the place. So I'm kind of organized if you take a quick glance, but if you dig deeper, you'll see that it's not very organized at all.

I organize it like every few weeks, but I already make sure I place things in logical order and transfer items between characters as fast as possible, to prevent confusing moments.

But every few weeks I just weed out the garbage and sell it.
