how old do you think your villagers are?

i've been thinking about it, and i realized i see each personality as their own age range. here are my thoughts:

• Normal: i used to see them as adults, but maple sometimes talks about passing exams or how she wants to grow up, so i think normal villagers are around late high school or college aged, maybe 16-24.
• Peppy: they seem super young and free-spirited, so i think they're in their early teen years, about 12-15
• Snooty: they're sophisticated adults, and when diana was in my town she'd talked about annoying kids or something, so i think they're adults. i don't know what to pin it down as though, maybe in their 30's or 40's?
• Cranky: unsurprisingly, i see them as the oldest of the personalities. 50's or 60's. this is why i feel uncomfortable about poncho calling vladimir and a female villager "lovebirds"
• Lazy: probably the youngest (the dialogue confirms they're younger than the player and at least normal villagers), so maybe 7-11?
• Smug: i see them as young men, just a bit older than normal villagers - 20-30.
• Jock: i think they're around the same age as normal villagers (16-24)
• Uchi: this is the hardest for me to determine because they seem like teens sometimes but adults other times. so i'd have to say some smaller range within the ages 17-35.

I think pretty similarly to you, though lazies I think are older than 10. They ask you how old do you have to be to be an adult, and the scale runs from 10 to 40. I don't remember exactly what they say if you pick 10, but it's something that suggests that they are older than that.

Regarding normals, I also always thought they were adults, until one time I got a letter from Marina that mentioned her wanting to be a sophisticated lady or something like that when she "grew up."

ah, that's interesting. i never put the slider at 10 so i never knew that. still, they act really young. maybe they're just teens who don't wanna let go of their childhood.

My husband, who has been playing since the original game, told me that the peppy villagers are the youngest and the cranky villagers are oldest. I don't have any age estimates though.

Well the snooties...I think it was Pecan...said something about being 8 or 9 on leap day so I assume their in their mid 30s.

I definitely agree with you, crankies are the oldest in my opinion. In my town, Wolfgang always talks about things his young nieces said or how back in his day he used to wear more adventurous clothing or something. Even Marshal made a remark about how old Wolfgang was.

I always thought Peppies were older than Normals, because all the Normals I've ever met are freaking obsessed with growing up and being mature, and I felt the Peppies lack of obsession meant they already were grown up and mature. Every snooty birthday party I've ever been to, the birthday girl refuses to share her age or makes a sad comment about being a year older, so I've always felt they were 40s rather than 30s.

And I totally agree about crankies being 50s or 60s, which is why it was so bizarre when Octavian rushed up to me in great excitement yesterday and said: "I see you too are into the fine art of the stroller." Um...sure, I'll sell you my stroller with a teddy bear tucked inside, Octavian...

that's a good point about peppies! but to me they seem like stereotypically girly kids, though that's totally not a bad thing.

Lazy: I do think that they in the 16-21 age range. They're still rather young and think rather innocently, but they are definitely one of the more calm personality types. There's actually a piece of dialogue in Happy Home Designer where a lazy villager would say that they hate being an adult.
Jock: Jock villagers are probably around 18-25 years old. They are easy to anger and aren't all that bright, but they do know when to stop doing something that's wrong.
Peppy: Peppy villagers are also 18-25 years old in my eyes. Like jock villagers, they're rather self-centered and have a lot to learn, but they're not out to harm others.
Uchi: They're probably around 20-30 years old. They're still rather young and reckless, but they do love to help out others. They're pretty much like older siblings that want the best from you, really.
Smug: Like uchi villagers, I see smug villagers in their 20s-30s. They are polite and they're not easy to anger, but since they're still young, they also have a rather narcissistic view on both romance and themselves.
Normal: Many normal villagers have always made me think that they're about 25-30 years old. Much like lazies, they are more mature than most and aren't easy to anger, but they still have just a few more things to learn. They're also rather introverted.
Snooty: There's a line of dialogue in New Leaf where a snooty villager lies about her age to another villager as she doesn't want for others to know, which suggests that snooties are older than most. I like to think that they're around 30-45.
Cranky: It's no secret that cranky villagers are the oldest of the bunch, but I like to think that they're around 45-60. But I don't feel that they're old enough to be beyond their midlife years since they don't think too highly of younger villagers.

About a month ago I found out the Snooty villager are the oldest.
Cranky villager asked the Snooty villager what the young villagers were talking about. She said don't understand you because I'm older than you.

Normal: I think they're around 13-15 since they're often talking about wanting to grow up and being mature. They tend to read a lot of books and are trying to learn/share recipes so something tells me they'd be around that age. They can still be a little childish at times (especially when they do the I'm Sorry dance to the lazies).

Peppy: I've always seen them around their late teens-early adulthood (16-22). They're always going on about starting trends and wanting to be famous so I think that range of ages would suit them well. I can picture them taking selfies when the mayor isn't looking.

Snooty: I agree with everyone saying they're around the mid-30s to early 40s.

Cranky: Like everyone else, I also see them as the oldest especially how they keep mentioning their younger nieces/nephews. They tend to call the mayor young so I definitely see them around early 40s-50s.

Lazy: Definitely the youngest. I see them as children so maybe around 5-10 years old? They do mention wanting to impress others by acting mature (like drinking coffee) but they love to nap and eat food. XD

Smug: I think they're 18-25 like everyone's saying.

Jock: I get the impression they're around 16-22 like Peppy. I guess their ages make sense if you put into account those are the ages players get signed into major leagues and being athletes.

Uchi: I'm pretty sure they're around the same ages as Peppy and Jock so 16-22.
