how often does wisp appear?

i made a new rule in my town that every time wisp appears, the temporary villager (which was pierce before, and is now being replaced by hazel) will be replaced.

but it just occured to me that if wisp appears very often, i won't have any time to bond with the guests. i really like hazel and i want to bond with her before her vacation ends.
if he does appear too often, i'll change the rule so there's a minimum of 1 month or so before the guest is eligible to leave.

so how often does he appear for you? i know it's only been 3 days since the update, but i know a lot of you time travel.

As far as I know, once you've updated the game you get Wisp from a lamp (which can be found when Wisp calls out to you).
You can take the lamp and place it in your house, and by interacting with the lamp Wisp appears and you can call an amiibo.

I didn;t think Wisp appears in any other way than with the lamp in your house. I could be wrong though.

I've only ever encountered him through the lamp, you can only summon one amiibo a day

i thought the lamp would go away after a day or so. does it stay forever?? if so i'll definitely have to change the rules

I've got the lamp in my house, had it since he first spoke to me. I've tt'd a lot since then and it's never gone away, so I assume it's permanent

The lamp Wisp is in will stay where you left him, so yes, forever.

Edit: I saw him after i tt'd to the next day. Maybe it requires you to complete the first few MEOW coupon tasks (the really easy ones, like put clothes on the wall) and visit the campsite. I saw him in the early evening, about 4pm. Some guides are saying go to like 12am-3am, but I dunno.

i heard he's more likely to come at night, but i found him in the afternoon in broad daylight.

i found him immediately after updating and visiting the campsite area. i talked to harvey and was walking down to my house and found him.

also the lamp is permanent, and you can summon him once a day. itd suck if you had to wait very long to scan in amiibo. you also get 5 meow points every time you summon him and scan in an amiibo

Found him in a area where no villager goes on the top right of my village.

He's all over the place in both of my towns. Doesn't matter what time it is. As long as I'm roaming around my town he will always find me.

I found Wisp. I must have picked the wrong option since I ended up with a picture of Isabelle. I have wanted her in the campgrounds so I could buy something to play the minigames with. Will the other characters also get a lamp. Can they call Wisp daily too?

I had amiibo cards for my favorite villagers, so I like how you just have to scan to get them in don't even need a vacancy. I had a villager that gave me her pic a long time ago and refuses to ping me about moving, so I scanned Goldie's card to replace her. But the 2nd day with the lamp still in the mayor's house, I don't have another villager I am ready to say goodbye too so I will scan my Whitney and Hopper cards. So I'm just doing one Zelda/Splatoon/AC amiibo figure a day til then.
