How much space do bushes need to grow?

I'll have to warn you though, they're also like trees; you can't go past through them so layout them carefully to not get yourself trapped!

By the way, I just found out that you can plant on the edge of a cliff as long as you can dig a hole in that area.

I don’t think the game would let you plant them that close to the cliff if they couldn’t grow. Like how you’ll get the pop up message when you can’t plant a tree in a certain spot. I was able to plant bushes close to edges so I imagine they’ll grow!

OMG! i've been so curious if you could move bushes around after fully grown! i haven't started planning how i want my island to look but wanted to get the achievement for 20 planted bushes, so i just randomly planted them everywhere hahaha

I’m not sure what you mean, but the game doesn’t allow you to plant tree saplings on cliff edges or too close to the beach and river. You can with the shrub starters.

The ability to move mature bushes is going to make decorating with the hibiscus much better.

I have them planted up on the grass now, but I'll be moving them onto the sand, once they're grown.

You CAN plant them in the case of tree saplings as well, they just won't grow.
