So, as the topic says, how many times have you guys started over and made a new save file?
I just did that because, well, honestly I made some REALLY newbish mistakes in my old save file and was drowning in debt. Basically, every scent of my money went to paying off one bill or another, and well, if it's no fun in real life, why would it be fun in a virtual life?
Just 1. This is my first AC game so I didn't know about how popular certain villagers were... my old town had Julian, Whitney, Marshal, Sprinkle, and Erik. ALL went down the drain. Makes me sad, lol.
I didn't like my first town layout though. Had a lot of rocks in the crappiest places...
I never started a new save in my main town to be completely honest. I thought nothing of my map, villagers, etc at first.. I was just excited to play haha.
But in my TTing town, that's a different story~
My layout isn't the greatest but I put so much work into my villagers, public works, catalog, and museum that I can't even think of doing that. Ill make due with what I have even though my rock placement is atrocious.
None. I thought the first map I saw looked decent so I decided to go with it in case the next ones were worse. And I got 2 dreamies in my first 5 villagers so It's the best choice I ever made!
I haven't done it at all. I like my map, I like my town, I'm perfectly happy with a house that is not fully expanded (I like to keep some rooms smaller), I like most of my villagers. As the developers of the game have said, AC is supposed to mirror some aspects of reality so, not everything is under your control, you even get not-so-cute villagers. I'm fine with all that. I like change, I like waiting for good things to come, I like different villagers moving in and out of my town.
Wow, it seems like everyone has really different outlooks when it comes to starting over and beginning a new save. That's so cool to see ^_^
This is only my second save file ever as NL is the first AC game I've played before. I'm probably going to end up sticking with it, too, because I'm going to make sure not to make the same mistakes I made last time, which should be easy now that I know what not to do.
Not counting all rejected resets (not sure how many, either), I've started from the beginning twice. I discovered that you couldn't get perfect foreign fruit trees, so my peach town had to go, in favour of an apple town. Because perfect apples are beauuuutiful! Also, my original house placement was stupid. One thing I was sad to lose was Ruby. She has always been one of my absolute favourites. But to make up for the loss of Ruby, I got Muffy, who is also awesome
Once, i started again two weeks ago
have an amazing town now, full of dreamies and other good villagers, amazing layout
so no plans to ever restart again, was the best decision ive made
I've never reset my savegame.
I'm happy the way it is; the lay-out, villagers and such.
I couldnt care less for ''the more popular villager's'' (what is this about?).
I think it would be fun to start a new file, but I haven't and don't think I will. I've gotten to far in my current file to start over! I kind of wish that I started over in the beginning though and reset to get some of my favorite villagers, but I was too excited to get and play the new game (I got it at midnight on release day!) that I didn't want to reset a bunch and have to wait.
i wanted to reset because i hate my layout, thought i would like it but no. i have like 70+mil bells in my bank and dont feel like transferring it to my alt town and back again tbh
