How many times did you reset when creating your town to get the ideal map?

i'm an idiot and didn't know the maps would reset so i literally picked the first map i could... which turned out to be incredibly unfortunate in my books because i have too many ponds and i really should have been more patient and learned more about new leaf before busting into it like i did. i'd never reset my town tho bc of all my badges and i've put in like 900 hours into acnl between my towns and such but i wish i could erase my ponds one day.

i guess if i could ever make a solid second town, i'd definitely go for one with a south facing waterfall, and only ONE pond, and i'd love to have peaches for my native fruit. those are really my only 3 things i wish i could get. maybe if i get a third copy (i ahve a cycle town and a main town currently) of the game i'll start creating a second town with those 3 things!

Not even once lol. I never bothered to look into things like town layout, character face, starter villagers, etc when I started my game. I just like to take what I'm given and make the most of it. That being said, I think I got pretty lucky! I love my town layout, the only thing I'd change is my rock locations but I think I've improvised well enough.

Yeah, I really wish Isabelle would give you the option demolish ponds, they're a bit useless and take up space. But it's amazing how the villager houses can be aligned so neatly in your town...

i spent hours upon HOURS plot resetting my villagers into those exact spots. you have no idea how many times i wanted to just cry because a villager would plot 1 space off from what i wanted.

i'd LOVE to be able to just erase 4 out of my 5 ponds but im much too scared to ruin my game to ever try something like that D:

I don't think it's that bad! I actually like the way your river runs, and having all those ponds on the upper half of your town kind of makes it a good natural location for greenery, while most of the houses are south of the river. It's like two different areas, I like that idea.

yeah i made my upper part of the town nothing but cedar trees and smaller pwps and such, where the bottom portion is more neighborhood-like and i mean i love my town bc of all the effort i put into it, but i can't help but wish i managed to get a map with less ponds. building things around all 5 of them was quite a pain in the ass if i do say so myself. lol. thank you though! you should come visit my DA sometime if you wanna check it out! it's under construction bc im trying to get marcel in the top house slot right now but i can't find anyone selling him. so maybe visit in a few days if you wanna see 4C00-0020-A2D9 <3

Ah, I'd love to! I'll definitely check it out, I'm really curious to see how it turned out after so many hours of hard work.

My first time playing I didn't really know how many options you had, I thought the ones they gave you were the only ones you could get. Once I decided to restart my town, I spent about an hour finding the "perfect" map

I restarted the game due to wrong gender choice but I pick up the first town map I saw cause it was perfect.

Probably more than 20 times, and I've probably spent more than 100 hours just plot resetting, my second town is hacked though, cause I ain't got time to go through all of that again, and I want to make a town without any limits to my creativity.

Main town (non hacked) is Zen themed.
Second town (hacked) is Forest themed, it's coming along, I only hack cedar trees, bushes, and villager placements etc.
