How many rocks do you have in your town?

I'm curious what the maximum number of rocks can be.

After the Welcome Amiibo update when I was resetting I counted 14 rocks - but I didn't count the number of ponds. It just seemed in that particular map that there were a lot of rocks.

In one of my towns I have one pond and 8 rocks total. This town was created before the update.

QUESTIONS:
How many rocks do you have?
How many ponds do you have?
When did you create your town? Before or after the update?

Additional Questions:
Do you like your rock placements?
Do do you like a particular placement of rock(s)?
Do you hate your rock placements?
Do you think you have more random rocks than other towns?

Let's rock n' roll!!!!

I have 8, and I hate their placements. They get in the way of my paths plus landscaping.

I have like 8, and I'd totally remove 3 of them, their locations annoy me a lot and are in the way of PWPs I'd like to place :(

In Chocolat: 9 rocks, I have one fake one sitting around, so it looks like I have 10.
In Vista: 8 rocks, One rock is also fake so it looks like I have 9.
In Flora: 9 rocks
In Moonview: 6 rocks...wow, that's less than the other three towns...

Also for Flora:

ALL THOSE ROCKS ARE IN THE SAME AREA TOGETHER! HOW COULD THAT HAPPEN!
Good thing I can work around them.
Also that house in-between the other two rocks belong to one of my side characters.

I'm only going to answer for two of my towns, because I have gridded maps of them and can check much easier than the third lol.

Llothien:

- 7 Rocks
- 1 Pond
- After the update; I didn't play the game for a year and started getting back into it post-Amiibo update, so I started all new towns.
- I certainly don't mind them, but I don't know if I can ever honestly say I like all of the rocks.
- Actually, this could have been my answer to the prior question but they sort of go hand-in-hand. I'm actually very happy with the rock placements in Llothien. All of them are far enough away from my main buildings that I won't have trouble landscaping in front of/around them. I've never had a map where the rocks were distanced so nicely from my Retail, Train Station, Plaza, AND Town Hall.
- I think it's about average.

Here's a visual of part of my planning map. My rocks are the black squares. (Please ignore the wonky long squares. I don't know how to fix that. This map is the first one I've made using GoogleSheets, I usually just us MS Paint x_x)

Lorhaven:

- 5 Rocks
- 2 Ponds
- Like before, after the update.
- I like that I have fewer rocks in this town. Not all of them are placed in the best spots, but they also don't interfere with my paths or anything either.
- I'm not sure, maybe a little less than average?

I have eight rocks and two ponds in my first town. There is this rock near my house that I plan to have two villagers beside mine, but it's in the middle and it's not fake. I had to work around, so I can make it work for the two villagers. I still hate the placement of it.

In my other town, I have six rocks and two ponds. I hate three of the six rocks placements. One is near the townhall and the other two are front of my train station. The rocks near the train station really annoys me unlike the rock near the townhall.

I never actually bothered to ever count my rocks or ponds. I actually kind of like them in a way, because they restrict villagers from moving into really stupid areas.

In Tinytree I have around 8-9 I think, 2 ponds. There's one rock right next to town hall that I hate, but I have come to accept lol. The other rocks I've either worked into the landscape or hidden behind buildings. Some people find rock placement a total deal breaker but I usually find ways to work around them. Sometimes they look quite nice right next to a path. The fact that you can sit on the rocks makes it easier for me to forgive them :P

Mineola has five rocks and one pond. It was made before the update.

Chococat has seven rocks and one pond. It was made after the update.

I got pretty luck with my rock placement. They're all out of the way, and easy to work around. There was one rock in Chococat that I thought would be a problem, but it wasn't.

I have four rocks and two ponds all before the update. I never had an issue with them, I kind of wish I had a little more though.

How many rocks do you have?
Alubarna has 9 rocks

How many ponds do you have?
2, including the Re Tail pond

When did you create your town? Before or after the update?
I created my town a few hours ago

Do you like your rock placements?
Most of them are in locations where I don't think will be a problem later

Do do you like a particular placement of rock(s)?
Just them not being in the way

Do you hate your rock placements?
Not really. They are less of a pain to work around than ponds though. So I'd rather rocks be in annoying locations than ponds

Do you think you have more random rocks than other towns?
I have no idea

i do like that we can sit on them now so I'm definitely taking advantage of that fact when I start my landscaping.

Sundance has 7 rocks (and 3 ponds). Hangzhou also has 7 rocks, but has 4 ponds. So I guess pond number doesn't always makes more rocks. :)

I have nine rocks, which includes the fake rock which I've left in a place that won't bother me. But I hate the placements of mine! One of them is RIGHT in front of my train station. Another one is right where I would've loved to put a windmill or something. The last troublemaker caused me to have to rethink my path. But I guess it could be worse, right? Might as well accept what I got and work with it. :)

My Joy town has 5 and the other five towns have 7 or 8. All of my towns have only one pond, and each was created before the update. I kind of figured that 8 was the maximum that a town could have. I guess I was wrong. 14 rocks is a ridiculous amount. I would have to reset if I had that many. I really don't like having too many of them.

Elenrast has 5 rocks (I said 4 in another post-oops) and three ponds. It is almost four months old. Only one rock, very near the town hall, bothers me a little. Two that are north of Re-Tail I incorporated into my double hot spring area as seats. I always think of the nearby pond as feeding the hot springs. ;) The other two rocks I barely notice anymore.

Novaria is 15 months old and asleep for the summer, but I know it has nine rocks, none of which bothered me because I was such a rookie that I didn't know they should. :D Can't remember how many ponds, though, and can't go look right now!

I don't hate the rock placements. In real life in Colorado sometimes you can try to dig out a rock that seems to be just on the ground, but is really a gigantic boulder mostly underground. No sense hating that, right?!

I have 6 rocks and 4 ponds in my town, which I created before the update. Fortunately none get in the way of any paths or flowers! There's this one rock but it doesn't really bug me :}

How many rocks do you have?
Five, but my town is new.
How many ponds do you have?
1. In my old town I had 2.
When did you create your town? Before or after the update?
Twelve days after the update.
Do you like your rock placements?
Hell no! Even though I have a little bit of rocks, they're in the worst places!
Do do you like a particular placement of rock(s)?
I've never seen some, so no.
Do you hate your rock placements?
Yes, you guessed it.
Do you think you have more random rocks than other towns?
Nope. Others are worse. I can't really complain about mine, to be honest.

Also, have you guys heard about this insect? I don't know what it's called, but people have been saying that there's an uncommon insect that turns your breakable ore rocks into real hard ones. I'm not sure if this is true, nor have I seen this insect before. Have any of you guys heard of it?
