Villagers can ask you per day?

I know is totally random but i'm curious if they can ask you just for one per day or maybe two because Apple just ask me for one just a few minutes ago and i want to know if i reach the limit.

Only one per day. Some say you can get two but no one really gave a clear evidence that you can get more than one. Even if it comes out true, I don't think it's worth the time trying to get another.
