I have 4 total! I thought it would be fun if we all introduced our players on our islands, since a lot of us have multiple characters playing. What is their back story (if any) and what purpose do they serve?
My island representative is the character that represents me. So she has medium light skin and I fluctuate between black and brown hair. I just dress her up in whatever outfit I find cute, or sometimes funny and silly. Her storage is 100% clothing and she is the one I'm focusing on completion. She has all the current DIYs, complete furniture catalogue, and she does all the crafting so she can complete her crafting goals. She is the only one who is allowed to donate to the museum.
The second character I created was Koh. They are technically genderless, but can take the form of a female or a male and can be called male and female pronouns, depending on how they present. They are based off of the face stealer spirit from Avatar: The Last Airbender. They shapeshift so sometimes they can be a vampire, a witch, and right now, they're a purple monster. Koh is meant to be the scary being on my island. I really wanted to have a haunted/horror themed house, so I thought Koh would be the perfect character! As a function, Koh stores all my extra furniture, unorderables, fish and bugs for models, and rare DIYs like crowns, wreaths and seasonal ones, for when I decide to trade. They are the first to receive dupe DIYs to learn. Because Koh has all the furniture already, they are my main terraformer/decorator.
Next up is Beedle, obviously named after the shop keeper in a lot of Zelda games! His house will be shop themed, and on the beach. His storage is full of materials and he's responsible for providing these materials for my other characters whenever they need it. He also has extra tools from Nook's Cranny so if one of mine break, I don't have to wait until my favourite variant is in stock before I can have it again. All the holdable items also go in his storage, such as fans, the champagne, poppers, etc. I intend to leave these around the island for dream visitors when I finally upload my dream, so I like to keep lots in stock. He gets all the hand me down DIYs from Koh to learn (no special ones) and also stores them for when I decide to trade them eventually. He also keeps all my extra fossils - I have at least one of each, in case I ever need to decorate with them.
Last one (for now) is Jeffwee, who is based off my boyfriend. He lives in a tent with the pollution and garbage. He has bugs in his house, a bucket of water, and a toilet. He hasn't been upgraded to a house so he isn't useful for storing anything. It was just a funny joke with my bf and I really like it. Who knows if I'll ever give him a proper house. Maybe my bf can actually decorate it himself! But for right now, he is a homeless visitor. He doesn't get any DIYs to learn either.
Those are all the characters I have right now. I like it a lot because I have 4 chances to do Gulliver/arr's tasks, make 4 models at a time, plant 4 money trees a day, buy out Redd's stock, etc. I actually fully intend on having all 8 player houses on my island eventually. They will all have different house themes, and will be based on characters I love, mostly from Zelda and Avatar. It definitely is tedious to do dailies on 4 characters, but I think having the extra storage and houses to decorate is very worth it.
So how about you guys? How many players do you have, and what did you create them for?
