How many of your villagers are permanent vs. temporary ones?

Just wondering how other folks organize their towns, whether with lots of movement or lots of cozy, stay-forever friends!

I absolutely love everyone in my town, but there are so many neat villagers out there that I kind of want to let anyone go if they ask to leave and I already have their picture. 10 simply isn't enough for me to meet everyone, and I want the villagers to have new adventures, if that makes sense...!? I'm the kind of person who can't keep things the same all the time, so that might be why...

But I'm wondering everyone else's views on their villages! Do you stop once you have all your dreamies? Do you continue to cycle? Do you have some spots resserved for cycling?

I'm keeping all mine for now, I may replace Tangy once I get the peppy diys tho.. I don't like peppies much. The rest are permanent ^^

I think I'll stop once I have all my dreamies, but mt dreamies will probably change at some point. For now I have Merry, Sherb, Marshal and Diana who I am 99% sure I'll keep, Nan, Gladys, Jacques who are nice but I will say ok if they want to move and Muffy, Tybalt, Pietro who I'm willing to move because they are not my type. I am probably going to get Uchi and Jock for some time (harsh, but mostly for DIYs and reactions) but then I doubt I'll keep them as those types of personalities are not really for me and their designs are also not so appealing. ^^ And someday I will change my minds about my permanent residents, I know it, but for now I'm still in "completing" phase.

Currently 8 of my villagers are permanent, the other 2 I'm considering keeping them long enough to get their photos and then moving in other villagers. I'm mostly considering this because I haven't fully decided who I want the last 2 to be. This might change to 6 permanent and 4 that can move out. I'm stuck, I really love my villagers, but I also want to switch up some of them as I continue to play.

I have some who are permanent residents and some who are temporary.
I do want to have a few spots that I keep temporary for now just to rotate villagers but some like Zucker, Sherb, Peggy and Henry are here to stay for good.
The only issue I have is the very long wait times before anyone asks to move and most of the time, it's someone I don't want to leave.
I miss going Island hopping and recruiting new villagers but it seems I only had a chance to do it at the very start of the game.

I don't think any of my villagers are permament for me. I do have a few I really want on my island, and will keep around when I find them. I am just trying to get the photo's of my current villagers before I let them move on

Currently, i have about half and half that are staying and I plan on moving out. With that being said, the fact that you have day to fill the plot before someone randomly moves in frustrates me and has made me keep my current villagers for now altogether because I don't feel like I have the means to find someone I would rather have in that plot within a day through island hopping, coincidentally having someone I want in my campsite, or coincidentally finding my dreamy being sold :[

I'm trying to replace Avery for Apollo but I'm in no rush, basically because I don't time travel and I don't dislike Avery. I'm also debating over whether to replace Apple or not, as she's pretty grown on me, but there are other peppy villagers I still like a little bit more than her. Plus, I don't like that she doesn't have her actual house, and if I kicked her out simply to get her back with her real house, I'd rather have a completely new villager.

i love cycling villagers, I have 3 of my dreamies as amiibos so they're always moving in and out haha
currently I have 3-4 (ugh idk about chief) villagers I wanna keep, the rest are leaving sometime
I'm currently only looking for 3 specific villagers, in the end that would put me at 6-7 permanent residents and 3-4 cycling plots

Vivian, Fang, Colton, Beau, and Zucker are villagers that I definitely intend to keep permanently. Scoot, Cherry, Cheri, and Bea are permanent stays unless I miraculously am able to get the villagers from those personality types that I like better. For Sisterly that would be Reneigh, for Peppy that would be Audie, and for Normal that would be Fauna (but I am considering keeping Bea anyway).

Cheri is the one I know that I'd for sure replace with Audie. Cheri is actually pretty cute and she is a good villager, but Audie... Audie is Audie, you know?

Then there's Apollo. I really like him, too. But I *may* switch him with a Snooty I like better like Cleo (seeing as I have so many Snooty villagers I adore, it makes sense to have two instead of one). IDK, though.

I stop once I have my 10! I know some people like to have cycling plots, but I get far too attached and guilty for that, lol. I do cycle out villagers but I don't consider those cycling plots, just me looking for the right 10. Right now I'm happy with my lot, but I am considering making Pashmina my Uchi instead of Mira, since I have had Mira in NL already, and I feel like Pashmina might fit my town better, but we'll see - I do love my superhero bunny.

8 of my villagers will live on my island, while the other two will move out eventually (Snooty villager, since I've yet to find a snooty I've liked thus far + Cycling spot).

I am going to speak from someone who frequently replaces the temporary ones. Permanent is defined as the ones I’m keeping long term until they have lived a long time on my island and are ready in my eyes.

Permanent:

Aurora, Mitzi, Bones, Judy, Ketchup

I like but may possibly let go when ready:

Dobie, Sherb, Reneigh

Will let leave when they ask:

Raymond, Dom

I actually like Sherb as equally as Judy, but ever since I found Bones he has been an even better lazy than Sherb. I have some thinking to do because I really want to scan June in, but I don’t have the room for her since Aurora and Mitzi are staying.

I'd say 10/10 of mine right now are permanent, but it's always possible that I'll move someone out if that makes sense.

Usually everyone who moves into my island is intended to stay permanently at this point. However sometimes I don't like someone as much as I would have thought so now I try to visit the villagers I'm interested in on another island before I start to cycle and move someone out.

I have 9 out of my 10 favorite living with me currently. I'm eventually going to replace Kyle with a cranky and I may have Cheri move out to bring in either an uchi or snooty but I'm not 100% sure. Kyle is definitely leaving tho just because I already have another smug but no cranky!

I have amiibo cards for most of my favourites so I'm happy for the rest to move out.

For me I’m trying to have a mix of species and personalities. There are some villagers that I just can’t let go of ( Melba and Tank and Whitney) and others that will eventually be allowed to move on if they ask. Right now though I have Robin Rhonda and Flurry as extra snooty and normals so when they ask the will be moved out. I would like to think my island is rotational but I get attached to certain villagers. Which is why poor Tank will probably be stuck in his starter house forever

I have 2 permanent villagers right now, Dom and Judy! Beau, Ankha and Fang will stay indefinitely and I really like Flurry and Pekoe's design so I'm also keeping them for now (at least until I get their photos!). Freya, Cherry, and Pinky I can do without tbh! I think I'll be able to get rid of Pinky soon as well seeing as she's been around for a while and I think she'll give me her photo sometime soon.
