How many items can I have on the ground for a 5 star island?

I have so many spare DIYs and made a little space where people can get them, but is that going to stop me from getting 5 stars?

Update? I removed the items, talked to Isabelle and now i have 5 stars!! so happy!!

Yup, I'm pretty sure its 15 items. A few weeks ago I was moving all my extra DIYs to my house so that I could terraform the area I put them in, and later that week I got my first lily of the valley I didn't talk to Isabelle since I don't consider my island to be done yet and I now have items dropped all over the place as I finish up my decorating but I can't wait to finally pick up everything and be officially 5 stars again!

My island is far from finished as well! But I'm happy to start getting the lilys as I have some places I want them to be! So that gives me like a time frame to get a couple and decorate with them before I get my island finished

I didn't think of that - I have a little valley that I want to fill with them so it would make sense to start as early as I can. I'll take your advice and pick the stuff up so that I'm technically at 5 stars and get the lilies, but will wait to talk to Isabelle about it when my islands closer to done
