How many copies of acnl do you have?

Two, but the other is my boyfriend's and I only cycle on it occasionally.

I have 2 hard copies. I used the second to cycle for dreamies, & now that I have them, I restarted for a new permanent town. I hated where my house was in my main town & didn't love the layout. Once I get all the houses expanded, I'm going to start transferring villagers & items over to the new town.

Our household has two - my sister's physical copy and my digital one. We're mayors of our respective towns, and have a regular character in the other town to collect items and interact with all the villagers. Technically I only have one town, but it feels like I have two. Especially since I'm the one who always funds PWPs regardless of which town it is.
