How long was your animal crossing hiatus?

I took a couple 2-3 week long hiatuses over the summer. Just started playing again :D

I took a nine day break because I was very stressed out with stuff going on IRL.

2 or 3 years between New Leaf and New Horizons. Still haven't missed a single day in this one.

I haven't played in a month. I am burnt out on it. I have redone my island several times, I made extra characters, and have caught all the critters available each month since I started. I feel like right now there is nothing to do. I will probably play tomorrow to catch the critters I need for September, but that will be it.
I think Nintento was dumb for not allowing multiple islands on one game system. Every other AC game I have played I bought multiple cartridges. I love having different towns/islands, but never want to lose the ones I already have. This will be the first time I have only one, and I am not happy about that. I don't want to lose everything I put into this one, but there is NO WAY I am buying another game system. I really feel like I am done after this game. I am tired of buying new systems to play the ONE game I love to play. If there were a ton of other games I liked that would be different, but AC has always been my go to game.
The one I have now will probably sit for who knows how long until I feel like playing again, but unless I start over, I don't see how there will be much I want to do. The only thing that will take me a million years to finish, if EVER is Redd, and right now I just don't care.
This is my favorite version of the game, and every game I have played for years without getting bored because I had multiple towns going at once. That is my gameplay, and now my gameplay is stalled. Oh well.

I've taken small breaks here and there (Usually only a couple days) if I'm getting burnt out.
Usually though, the updates and me constantly adding/thinking of more stuff to do with my island is enough to kickstart my motivation to play again. With how the updates keep coming, I think it might be a while before I take a big break from it like I did with NL...many times.

My hiatus was about 3 months. The bunny day event really burnt me out, I was so stressed that I wouldn't get enough eggs. I did, but it was very close from what I remember. Really hope they redo that event to be different next year or tweak it slightly to make the grind a bit easier.
Although, back then I absolutely refused to trade with people, while nowadays that's how I get a lot of the event recipes. I don't like trading, but at least it doesn't get me burnt out on AC games :)!
