How Long to Build a Thriving Town

I was wondering how long it took y'all to make the dream town you planned, or just got your town looking good at all. I wanna make a great town with plenty of PWP's and so I was thinking maybe somebody had a time estimate? Getting PWP's is not my strong suit, but I find ways to entertain myself during the long haul haha...

A lot of that is going to depend on bells and the time you invest into the game. I have played since the game was released and I still don't have my dream town. But I also go on spurts of long heavy play and then lengths of nothing. There is a lot of factors to achieving your dream town.

It also depends on you and how you play. If your someone who knows exactly how they want their town. Then I can see it not taking too long. I'm still not done my town and it's almost been a year.

If you don’t mind time traveling and trading items/services as a means to earn money, then it shouldn’t take too long. I invested a lot of real time hours into time traveling back and forth to grow/chop down/regrow trees to see where they would look good in my town, as well as building and destroying PWPs to find the perfect placement. I admit most of that was thanks to buying bells off this forum to fund my trial and errors, haha. If you play naturally, all this will take a long time. But playing naturally and getting all your things slowly is also part of the fun of ACNL. It just depends on how you like to play and how much time you wanna invest in your town :>

Just checking my log (sadly) I played 2171 hours of this damn game since I got it in 2013, but not sure how much of that is from playing my current town, which is “complete” in my opinion. My average play time is around 30 minutes.

I’ve been playing my current town for almost a year, and it’s nowhere near what I want it to be. I play pretty heavily too as of now, before, I’d go months on end without even touching AC. I still have a long way to go, and slowly but surely certain things are falling into place, like obtaining my dreamies. After that’s dealt with, I’ll worry about my paths, plants, etc. I have all my hybrids down at the beach, so that there’s no chance of them ever being ruined by a villager, made that mistake far too many times on my last town, but then again, I had no clue you could plant flowers on the beaches, so... I don’t doubt it’ll take me at least three years to get my town exactly the way I want it to be.

It really depends. If you have a clear vision and are willing to trade for plenty of items and invest time into earning bells well then it shouldn't take too long. If you are unsure of what you want and want to do stuff without trading, it will take longer
