Whitney's house is in such an annoying place, I'm considering kicking her out, cycling for her, and then getting her back. (Actually considering giving her away and getting Freya instead but that'll be another thread lmao) I can live with her house being where it is, but it's going to be hard whenever I decide to put paths down.

Actually Kyle is in a bad place too but I refuse to let him leave my town :/

So exactly as the title says, how long does it usually take, and is it worth it?

Well it works just like it says! Once you kick Whitney out, she can't move back until 16 more villagers have moved out over time.

There's no set time frame, it depends on how often you play, how much you play, how many free villager spaces you have, & how fast you can kick people out & find new villagers.

I had a town dedicated to cycling, in a 3 or 4 hour play session I could get up to 5 or 6 villagers in & out. If you don't care who leaves & who moves in, it could take as little as a few days to cycle 16 villagers.

If you TT, and you have a good number of unwanted villagers in your town to raise your chances of accepting a move-out ping, I imagine it would take about a day. Maybe 6-10 hours of TTing. I can't even imagine how long it would take without TTing, so I'll let someone else comment on that. How many villagers in your town are you willing to let move out? in order to do the cycle?

I know how it works, but thank you for taking the time to explain!

I only have one that I can let go right now other than Whitney and I have 10 villagers, so Idk, maybe I should just stick it out.

i did it a year or two ago for felicity, and i think it probably took me a good month. i don't remember how many hours a day i was putting into it, but i sure as hell learned to perfect my methods for TT'ing/moving villagers out. honestly it was exhausting and although getting her back after losing her was great, i don't think i would bother doing it again.
if whitney's house is really in that bad of a spot, go ahead, but know that you'll be spending a lot of time cycling through the 16. just make sure it's really worth it if you're gonna do it. :c

I cycled out Genji for the same reason. With three open spaces, gave Pietro away and accidentally lost Molly before I even began, it took me about six days. That was because I was picky with villagers moving in. If I wasn't, it would've been like two or three days. TT'ed very cautiously as I have seven dreamies.

Having Genji's house in a much better spot is worth it though. Completed the cycle for Molly too.

In that case I wouldn't even bother. It took me 3 hours of TTing and rejecting move-out pings from my dreamies just to get my last unwanted villager to move out of Luneta so I could adopt Butch. Imagine having to do that 16 times. Just do your path/landscaping around where her house is. You never know, sometimes it ends up looking really cool.

Alrighty, thanks so much, guys! I think I'll just deal with where her house is right now, it's not the absolute worst place ever. She just has a rock right in front of her door.

yeah it is really annoying. if you ever feel like letting other villagers move too then that'd be a different thing, but if you only have two villagers you can cycle with it'll take a longgggg time ;;

hope you'll be more ok with her spot ;; rocks in bad places are the worst

Where is the rock exactly in front of her house? If I remember right, Whitney has a silver fence. Maybe you can incorporate that rock somehow into the "front yard" of her house, since it kind of matches the fence? There's definitely possibilities. One of my obsessions is giving villagers houses front/back/side yards so if you want to bounce ideas off me maybe I can help. It might be cute to put a few of those white mushrooms around her house, too.

I saw that you already decided but I just wanted to add my opinion. :p

It would really depend on how many villagers you're willing to let leave. I was cycling to get Anicotti back in but was only willing to let 2-3 villagers go. It's been months and I still don't have enough cycled through; I need maybe about 5 more I need to cycle. But I now have 9 permanent villagers. It'll take so long to get her back in.

So, I think it's worth it if you don't have many permanent villagers. Otherwise, I think it'd be good to just work around it.
