Really just depends on what your preferences are. A specific spot though, requires extensive plot resetting in an overwhelming majority of cases. If you can settle for something a bit imperfect though, no more than an hour or two is sufficient.

It took me hours to get kid cat into a decent enough spot. It was extremely frustrating. Ankha was probably the worst though.

But recently I've had pretty good luck with plot resetting. It took me a few tries to get mira into a decent spot, and 1 try with vesta.
