So I have Julian moving in today and I'm planning on having a little villager island and I have a specific spot I'd like him to move in. I have been plot resetting for 3 hours straight and now I'm kind of having a break. How long does it usually take to plot reset if you want them to move into a specific spot?

This is my town map, I haven't completed many PWPs so there's obviously more room for him to move in at the top half, which he's already been doing and sometimes in the same places. I unfortunately had to give up the dreamie in the campsite because he was in such a horrible spot.

It depends on where you want him, if you want him in a 3x3 area it is going to take a while! It may take a few minutes or even weeks! Depends on your luck... :3

The game actually holds it for you, I think. It did that for me when I was villager resetting once. Think it has something to do with the fact that nothing is set in stone and the day hasn't really refreshed until you've logged in with it.

i just got extremely lucky w/maple yesterday it was great! she plotted acre by acre directly behind shari's house with an extra space in front for trees.
it's all luck, but u can ofc increase ur chances with pwps in area's u dont want plots to plop on (except im way too lazy to do that, & im not fond of the grass deterioration it causes) :p

gah.. the time varies for each person when wanting to plot reset! usually i'm a really impatient person, but it takes time so i seriously have to sit myself down (sometimes hours on end) to get my villager somewhere satisfying enough for me where i can take a break. :c but i'm sure if you just continue to work hard at it, maybe the game will be like "man they've been working hard, we'll give them the perfect spot for julian!!" i wish you luck, my dear~

Thank you. I'll do my best! Kinda Annoying since every time I check for his plot, I run into the same pitffall seed. Not a big deal, but it gets frustrating after a while haha.

That will vary a lot. And apparently the plot would have a higher chance of spawning where the most recent villager's house was. I can sort of confirm this while I was plot-resetting for Genji, but it didn't really happen when I was doing it for Merengue.
I suggest placing temporary PWPs around your town (i.e: yellow benches, fountains) to try and stop them from moving into the unnecessary spots. And even when I did this, it could take 1-6 hours for me to plot reset correctly.

Best of luck getting Julian into the right place!

Good idea to protect some areas with cheap temp PWP - tho I don't think you can do that with this current move in.

Have a good look at you map and compromise - are there positions which are not perfect but you could deal with - the photo you put up is a possible - just move the path a bit to the side.
That would make the whole thing a lot easier on you.

The pitfall - when you are back on the game normally & can save, bury a pitfall in a out of the way corner and you will not get any more pitfalls spawning (unless a villager steps into it). If you need pitfalls then collect off a balloon tour.

Longest it's taken me is 5 hours...but I take so many breaks in between. Majority of mine were fairly quick though..

Good luck! I've plot reseted for a villager for about two weeks before, so placing temporary PWP's definitely helps! I think the place where your most recent villager moved out also influences a villager to move into that same spot, happened to me when Ruby kept trying to move into Carmen's old spot. Best of luck anyways :)

I never plot resetted for more than 30 minutes. In ~5 tries both Ankha and Pietro put their houses in acceptable locations. Now when I finally get Carmen I can see myself spending hours plot resetting, since I want her house in a very specific location.

I've only plot reset twice, but both times for about 3-4 hours. Although it's not that I got the placement I wanted within that time frame, it's more like I gave up by then and was like "Alright that's good enough"

Well mine was for about 8hrs. Then I didn't want to play for the next day and the whole week so I gave up on giving him an exact location. Instead, I was happy as long as he was on the right side of town so I could build a bridge around him. I guess that's one way to solve the problem. I didn't want to lose my mmotivation for animal crossing just because of his location.

Yeah honestly plot resetting sucks. When I was plot resetting Ankha there was one specific spot I wanted her in and she absolutely refused to move there, so I gave up and settled with the general area. It's definitely most frustrating when there is an EXACT spot you want them in. I've found just shooting for a general area works for me cause it gets so frustrating.

I guess it depends how picky you are with the placement. I don't have the patience to reset constantly to get my villagers in the perfect spot as I'll just work around them if they have moved into an inconvenient space, but I can understand why some people choose to plot reset.

I`ve done plot-resetting for a camper, and it took me two days, so maybe ten hours I think.
I wanted her in a specific area, not an excact spot though. I think it?s really worth the time when the villager is in a good place, not blocking the path or bridges. Good luck!
