How long do you hold your bladder?

Strange question, eh? Well I noticed, a lot of the time, I hold my bladder until it hurts. That's probably not too healthy, is it? I drink a lot of water and it's annoying to keep having to pee.

according to my middle school science teacher, it has no effect on your health in the long run. (ex: holding it doesn't mean you'll not be able to when youre 80)

but that's if you take his word for it.

i usually hold it for a while, so i don't have to piss every ten seconds.

Yeah I avoid going to the bathroom, especially at school or in public places so I usually hold it for like 8 hours or until I become extremely uncomfortable haha

i think he meant more just for old-age related stuff. reason it came up was his parent(s?) being effected, friend of mine asked if it was a cause or some such.
