Currently looking for the map for my town of Wildcove, I want a little island area created by the river off to the left, and I've found the map twice, but sadly villagers have had their houses too close where I want to place mine D:

I've been resetting since Friday, how long did you reset for?

The first time was 5 minutes
The second time was 3 minutes

Totaled about 6 to 8 hours resetting for a good map and Stitches. I ended up with gross triangle grass and pears, but I like my map layout. It's not the worst.
I'm totally honestly debating restarting again since I lost him, but I'm gonna try cycling instead since I didn't exactly like resetting for that long, lol.

It took me three days to make that potato salad... er I mean to get my new map. THREE DAYS! When I was greeted with Biskit and an awesome layout, I was positive that it wouldn't let me down. But it seemed too good to be true... Sure enough, it had basically everything I wanted, apples, private beach, lots of space, square grass, one pond, etc. While Re-Tail could've been in a better place and the plaza could have been less secluded, I knew that I would never find another town like this for many more days, maybe even MONTHS! Sure enough, I kept this town, and it had just recently had its one-month anniversary! I'm not planning to get rid of this town at all!

It took me almost 2 months trying my best to get
a small island with a private beach, a light brown train station
and town hall, and apples as a fruit.

Eventually I chose a town with 6 ponds, apples, and a brown
town hall. Not what I expected, but I've grown to love it :)

For my current town I only reset a couple of times. I wasn't looking for anything in particular, just somewhere nice to put my house!
For my second cartridge, I've been resetting on and off since January and still haven't found quite what I'm looking for. :P But that's okay, I'm in no hurry!

When I first got the game, I reset a few hours a day for two days. I had very specific criteria in mind and the main problem was the same as yours - a villager's house was already in the spot where I wanted to build mine. I ended up with a map where Kabuki lived right in my backyard, next to the swimming pool.

I didn't know 6 ponds existed O_o I couldn't live with that. But you can always make ponds look nice ^^

It's been days for me, I should have kept a really nice map but it had pears so I kept resetting. STUPID ME.

On my very first town, I just picked from the first 4 given. I accidentally made my mayors name in all caps, so after an hour, I reset and just picked from the first 4 maps again. I ADORE my town layout :)image.jpg

Now some of my villager house placements are different as I am currently cycling a couple so I can replot Francine and fuchsia. (3 more to go to finish the 16!!!) I just finished replotting bam who is below peanut's house in the top left corner. I'll also re-add my 4th house after I'm a done as well.

Uh.. About five days, heh. (most of my waking hours i think.. It was painful.) My first town i didn't spend long at all, i don't know if i even did reset to be honest. But i was really particular about what i wanted in my town layout in this town. What do you mean about the river, do you mean the 'S' (or reverse S) shaped river that kind of creates an island at the top with a narrow path down the side? If so, i totally feel your pain. That's the kind of map i have now, that i was resetting for, and its SO annoying to get the perfect map, and then have a villager right in the middle of your island, where you wanted your house. Good luck finding your perfect map! Hopefully it wont take as long as it did for me, i should mention that i was fussy about a lot of things other than the river so that's probably why it took me so long, hehe. Nice town name, by the way!

Eh... Three days but I can't say how many hours. If I have to guess, I'm going to say around fifteen or so? Might be less but it seemed like forever before I finally found a map I really liked.

0 hours lol... took the first map because I was so excited to start playing (bought the game fairly late I guess? in aug)
deciding a town name took like 30 mins tho lol

When I first got the game I was too excited and I wanted to play right away so I got the first item I choose - my town layout is terrible and I never knew how to plot reset until I got my last dreamie so it's kind of too late to reset now!
