To get the PWP requests you wanted from villagers?

I'm doing the 'ten minutes out of sight' and all flowers trick and so far nothing. It seems like I get them more when I'm wandering around town with an assorted inventory and not looking for requests. What has worked for you?

It’s so random, it’s crazy. Like, I wanted the tower but I didn’t know I’ll get that over the pond, bus stop and even picnic. I find that the chances of them requesting a PWP is higher when you’re actively doing pwp projects or just done one. I stopped doing the diving trick.

Good to note! The diving trick actually made the game more stressful and frustrating when I wasn't successful.

I'm hoping to squeeze out the Picnic, Trellis, Zen Bridge and Metal Bench. Been a four year crusade. ;~;

4 years :o
I need the trellis too. The Uchi pwps are the best but somehow Lyman the jock keeps suggesting ugly projects.
I guess the diving trick works sometimes but there are days they really won’y suggest anything. Or suggest one you don’t even like then try again. I find that I get what I want randomly when I’m not even expecting a ping.

I do the diving trick once and a while but I get bored too easily or lose interest because i'm not really playing and feel as if i'm not accomplishing anything, on top of that I rarely get the PWP's that I would like to build, and get ugly ones that not many people would ever build. I think its easier to just do the diving trick a couple times every play session just so you don't get too bored and you have the chance to get some requests. Its better to do that do not.

This is a flaw in the game. Perhaps a combination of having villagers suggest Public Works Projects and days elapsed is what should have been incorporated to generate the choices. I have my three towns. But, as a hobby, I have other game cartridges and developed towns. I have nowhere near the amount of PWPs options—so I repeated the Street Lamp and Yellow Bench in many areas, plus the Museum, upgrading the Town Hall and Train Station, to earn a Perfect Town. But, I will say I find I get more PWP requests from villagers the more rapidly I add a PWP. So, picking the lower-cost ones—and repeating the basics in the lights and benches—is a good start for getting it going.

How soon after building them would you say you get requests? Within a day or two, then build another if no one pings?

Sometimes it happens as I have a new PWP getting ready to build. Sometimes it happens just after Isabelle gathers the mayor and some villagers with the ceremony that welcomes and new and completed PWP. It just helps to get going with more PWPs. They dcan be lower-costing. It helps to trigger a new PWP requst.

For months now, I've really wanted the Illuminated Heart Public Works Project in my circus/magic show town so that I can hopefully put two up, one on either side of my mayor's house. Assuming there's room anyway, I might have placed her house too close to the Town Hall building, but hopefully we'll find out eventually. I've tried the diving trick numerous times and even utilized the method of surrounding the specific villager you want a suggestion from with holes so they can't move and you can head right for them for the best chances.

I've had annoying PWP hunts in the past but this one is definitely the one that has taken the longest. I guess I'll have to figure out what other Public Works Projects I want to construct in that specific town and see whether the anecdotal evidence mentioned in this thread holds true.

I just thought of something! What if visiting another town with a PWP you don't have made one of your villagers request it a short time later? Maybe it's not the most ideal, but Nintendo does seem to like putting in rewards for being social in their games.

The very same day, if you play long enough. Most of the time right after finishing a pwp ceremony, I get a request that day without even doing the diving trick. If not, build a new one & while that is in progress chances are even higher.

Most of my towns are always going to be works in progress, so the PWP's are always ongoing, lol.

I?ve stopped trying to force them to ping in hopes of a pwp because it?s usually just ?how does my outfit look today? or ?I need a new catchphrase/ greeting? I do it occasionally but rarely get pwp requests, it happens but takes about an hour or two. Genji is usually on his game when it comes to pwps he?s always suggesting them not sure why but I?m fine with it, gets me one step closer to getting the pwps I actually want. The ones I?m searching for usually happen when I least expect it and they make my day :)

Are your gates open? Are friends visiting? I play a lot with my best friend, and I am starting to suspect that I only get PWP requests when the gates are closed - the animals have very limited lines of dialogue when the gates are open, usually explaining how to end a multiplayer session/being excited to meet the visitor/telling you to go and hang out with the visitor.

Given that you can't wake Cyrus/move furniture/get Blathers to assess fossils/use Wisp/wake Gulliver with the gates open, I should have thought about this sooner.

Vix.

I've played since 2013 and I had never gotten any special requests for any pwp projects. I played every day all night long and I hated how boring my town looked. I just restarted my town and I hope I have better luck with this town.

None of that, no. I always tell my sister I don't get requests when she's there, so whatever we do, we do it because we have a purpose of doing it lol. When I'm playing by myself the animals tend to just not like me.

Although my brother just confirmed he did the diving trick and got two requests in a half an hour (setting the day of course). He's incredibly fortunate.

That's what I was hoping for this one. I feel like some towns are just duds for some reason, lol.

I just realized I'm never getting pwp requests from the Uchi (SHARI REALLY COME ON) and have done more than half of everything the Peppy's could offer. The way they do this so randomly is honestly just to troll us.

There are times where I had so much luck and got pretty quick the requests for PWPs I wanted.
And then there where times where it took forever to even get one request for a PWP I wanted
to have in the town. There are still PWPs I never got because my villagers never requested them.
Kinda frustrating if you ask me.

Does anyone know if villagers can request different projects in a same day? (Multiple villagers making single requests, or one villager making multiple requests).
