How long did it take everyone to find their dreamies?

oh man, I wish I wasn't in a rush, I don't know why I'm so obsessed with getting at least 1 or 2 of my dreamies ASAP, its crazy! Congrats on your town! xx

Your turnip tip is so helpful! I never really played around with that before and was planning on doing the island beetle trick forever for bells so thank you! My top dreamies are expensive so that will really help.
I don't know if I can take the stress of cycling raffles, I just missed Beau today by a few minutes and I'm way too bummed over this video game.

Yeah when I wanted Beau, I found a cycling thread that had him in boxes. I stalked it for about 8 hours non stop until he went into boxes and snagged him. It really is a pain waiting around, especially when you want to do other things etc. As people also said, there are village adoption tumblrs, and you can check reddit as well for cheaper prices. One of the main reasons I did such a huge turnip run (I spent from 8 AM to 11 PM at night buying and selling turnips) was so that I would have a guarantee of getting my next dreamie and not have to stalk a thread again. Stalking threads is not fun lol. I'm a little crazy though. I can do silly busy work for hours straight and it won't bother me.

Island trick is fun. If you do go to the island, chop down all the trees in the middle of your island, pull up all the flowers (you can leave the bushes) and leave a few trees on the island. This will make mostly only expensive beetles spawn. Past 7:00 is a good time to start hunting them. If you want to TT (which TTing some hours forward won't hurt your game) you can go to 11:00 and have the other beetles spawn which will net in a lot of money as well. A general beetle run without the wealthy ordinance generally nets me 350k on average for 20 minutes. Wealthy ordinance is 20% more money, so just add 20% to that, and that's your average.

If you plan on doing turnips, you can either try TBT forums, or I also use reddit. Generally people do groups of two, and one group will take 20-30 minutes to sell. So if you post as the 8th person, AFK for a while, because it's not going to be your turn for over an hour xD Also since one locker takes 20-30 minutes to sell (A, B, and C tabs), if you do buy more lockers just make sure you can get them sold throughout the week. There's tons of people who do have high prices throughout the week, so it shouldn't be an issue.. but yeah all of it takes time. Even if you only have time for one locker sell, it's still going to get you 7-9 million total.. (minute 1.5 million for the amount spent on turnips.) So all in all it's pretty good. Dremie prices vary. A lot of even the most popular villagers can be seen sold for 5 million. I see an average of 10 quite often though (exception of Marshall). If you do two locker sells at least, you could get yourself a total of 14-18 million, and try to win an auction the next week.

I started this game in December of last year. D; Back then I didn't know about dreamies, and I joined this forum this month in january and that;s where I started learning about dreamies. I had so far achieved Coco, Tangy, Chrissy, Francine and Ankha so far. (Special thanks to the people who had let me adopt and buy most of them). And Bam, Fang and Phoebe were my starting villagers, and I love them, and I pretty much consider them my dreamies. c: So in a way, it had taken me one month to achieve 5 of my dreamies! And my last dreamie is Marshal. One more away from achieving all my dreamies. :o

There are three main places that are helpful for finding dreamies: the forums, Tumblr (I follow villagertrade, villageradopt, acnladopt, ac-trade-adopt) and Reddit (adoptmyvillager subreddit). Between the three of them, there are I think a hundred or so adoptions that take place each day. Crazy.

I didn't really have a formal, defined "set" of dreamies, but for about a month or so I was constantly switching out villagers until I finally found a roster I was mostly happy with. They only became my dreamies after I adopted them c: This took me about 4-5 weeks!

This was incredibly informative and helpful, I wish I could return the favor!

I don't really get the appeal of tumblr. @_@ I have one and post stuff, but I get bored of it.

you are lucky, i get so sucked into it!

2 weeks, took some resetting and a friend who reset her town, so I could use it to cycle for some days

I only finished mine a few days ago. X_X

Willow, Fang and Kyle were random move-ins. I bought Drift, Bangle and Cherry for a million, Merengue for eight million. I think I got Ozzie for free. Zucker was a camper (When I convinced him to move in, Ankha camped the next day and I couldn't adopt her. Ugh :( ) and about three days ago I bough Ankha for 15 Million. I may replace Fang with Gruff since I'm a fan of the goats and I don't have one yet

Update: I pretty much have all my dreamies and it took way less time than I expected - about a month
Mira was in my town at the start, Lily, Wolfgang, and Bunnie moved in on their own, I won Diana, Beau I paid for, and Julian, and Poncho were luckily given to me by a friend!

2 months. At the beginning it seemed impossible, but as I kept trying I realized it was a lot easier than I thought. There's multiple auctions, give-aways, and cycling towns that have different villagers up multiple times each day.

...wait I answered this before.

Wat this thread got bumped from almost a month ago....

Honestly I didn't think I would get any of my dreamies when I started my game, and in about 3 months I had all that I wanted!

About a month or so ago is when I really started caring about villagers. Before that I had only 1 ever move out and that was Paula, I couldn't stand her. I was more concerned about my house and paying off my loan, and then I didn't play for a few months.

Now that I've got my house pretty much exactly how I want it I've started on villagers and in the last month I've picked up 2 that I want, and I have 4 more to get rid of. If I keep going at this rate, I will have my villagers all sorted 2 or 3 months from now.

It's going to take forever tbh
doubt i ever will
In Parfait i was lucky virtually all of them are game generated (Tangy, Marshal, Stitches, Mira) and then ones i have grown to have as dreamies (Tia)
Got Molly off here though

I didn't really have an idea for who I wanted in my town permenantly, they kind of just trickled in randomly and I fell in love with them.
