How is your house set up?

I'm being incredibly indecisive right now. I want to make an antique/fairy tale themed room but I'm not sure whether I should make the whole house that theme or individual rooms. How did you do it?​

I try to decorate it pretty much like an actual house-- Main floor is my living room/kitchen. Upstairs is my bedroom, downstairs is my secret laboratory. You know, the usual.

I'm actually currently visiting your DA. Lovely town. But I do really like your set up. Especially in the left room. ^^

I've got a sort of 'classic' look. The main room is all regal furniture, the left is a bedroom with a lot of roccoco stuff, the back room is like a little indoor garden, the right is a bathroom with a claw foot tub, lotus lamp, just sort of a cross between the zen theme in the back room and the classic theme in the first two, and the upstairs is a kitchen/dining area that doesn't quite have the items I want in it yet. When I get my basement addition, I'm going to turn it into a Walter White style lab for the hell of it. xD;​

My house is basically set up to be everything pink/purple-ish. The only exception is my upper room which has the princess furniture.

I haven't done a lot of real decorating on my house yet. I used to just make each room completely different, but I love homes with a unified theme. I'm trying to plan out some rooms with similar colors/feels to them.

I'm terrible at decorating, but perfectly willing to give advice, of course. I'd start with one room or two and just let it grow as your interests develop and change. If you love the first room or two, the theme will probably take over the house. If it looks good but you discover something else to try, you can add that upstairs or in the basement or build another home. I've seen beautiful theme homes as well as exciting homes where you can't wait to see what's new in the next room. I always let my lack of an overall plan prevent me from getting anything done, so I'll encourage you to give up the indecisiveness and at least start on a few rooms Have fun!!

For now I only have my mayor as a character so its just set up like a normal house. Study/Library at the left, Bathroom at the right and Kitchen at the back room but I plan to build a art gallery-cafe in my basement. :3
