How important is balance of personality/species to you?

I have all of the different personality types, as well as a variety of species (minus having two wolves). I specifically set it up this way because I like to have a balance of personality/species on my island. But today, I have Fang on my campsite, who I ADORE! I had on my ACNL town, and I seriously loved him. I am very much thinking of asking him to move in, but then he would have to replace Audie, who is my only Peppy... I am so stuck because I really do love Audie! But when I saw Fang, all of these memories flooded me, and I can't seem to get him out of my head.. but to be honest, the only reason I have Audie is for the sake of personality balance (and she was my bf's dreamie, but he no longer plays so that's no longer a factor). I'm stuck with following my heart and getting Fang, or following the sake of balance and keeping Audie. Any advice?

I would say if you have all the reactions unlocked and are ok with possible repeat dialogue go for who you want. You can always trade for the diys. This game is meant to bring joy. You have a 60% chance to get a villager in your campsite that you are missing so if you feel the need to add a peppy later it won’t be that difficult.

I would go for Fang! Leaving somebody you know you would regret letting go of isn't worth the personality balance, imo. I have Fang in my town and he's such a sweetie plus, if you ever try to move out another villager you could always get another peppy! I have 4 wolves, 3 deer, 2 squirrels and a duck in my town right now and I'm missing the uchi personality, but loving your villagers is worth it to me! Good luck

Yep go for the one you want most. I still have reactions to get so I recently got another snooty and I still need another sisterly. Once I get the reactions I doubt I'll be concerned with personalities. one exception to that might be the jocks, i can only take so much talk about muscles lol.

If you aren't too concerned about getting all of the reactions, are okay with no longer seeing peppy dialogue, then go for Fang! It seems like you have many memories attached with him, and it would be a shame to let him go now.

However, as Fang can be moved in through Amiibo, if you are concerned about not finishing all the reactions, you could always let him go for now, let Audie move out, and then cycle him in through Amiibo/purchase him from someone else. Conversely, you could always let go of another villager to make room for a peppy in the future.

I do want a full spread of personalities so that does matter to me. However, I am going to have a deer majority on Evwirt for thematic purposes.

for me personally I wouldn't do it bc I'm a simp for having at least one of each personality. If you already have all the reactions, tho, then it should be fine in that sense...

p.s try closing the game w/o saving when a campsite villager offers to replace a villager that u don't wanna kick, and there'll be a 10% chance of it being diff next time

Personality, not at all. Once I get all the villagers I want, many of them will have the same personality and I'll have none of some. However for species, I prefer no duplicates. I have 2 horses right now but eventually I'm looking to move out both of them.

I honestly barely talk to my villagers anymore because of the repeat dialogue so I pretty much just go for all my favorites regardless of what personality they are.

It’s fairly important to me to have a variety in dialogue so I don’t get bored of talking to my villagers.
For a while I had four (!!!) normals. Even though they’re my favourite personality type, it was A LOT. (Sorry Maple )
Now have have at least one of every personality type and I’m really enjoying the variety (except sisterly bc I don’t know who will fit with my island theme best. It’s slim pickings imo).

I've had 3 normal villagers one time, and I thought I was going to go crazy! Phoebe is my favorite sisterly villager, not sure what your island theme is but she's great!

I have three normals atm (Stella, Fauna and Kiki). I’m attached to all of them and can’t let any of them them go permanently
I’m going for a woodland/forest theme (with two cats... cats can be found in the wild!) Phoebe is awesome and I love her design, but she doesn’t really suit. I’m leaning towards Pashmina the most or maybe Muffy because she’s a goth queen

IMO: you made the absolute right choice. Audie is super popular right now too so it's easy to get the outside influence like "oh maybe I do want her to stay..." feeling which I have gotten with villagers before like. But my personal faves range from universally super popular to BASICALLY NOT POPULAR WITH ANYBODY EXCEPT ME AT ALLLLLLLL hahaha and I am always happier when my island is slightly unbalanced in terms of species/personality but DOPE in terms of the actual animals <3 I didn't really know there was much of an internet community for AC for a huge chunk of my New Leaf time so I was bffs with Agent S (did you notice XD), Tia, Goose, Peck, Ankha, Muffy, Chadder, Bruce... bunch of others but you get the idea. It was totally random and I just love them because I DO. GO WITH YA HEART.

Something I encourage everyone to do is to pick villagers that they like and not let factors like personality or species balance get in the way. I had 4 deer villagers at one point and 3 normal villagers at another. If you feel happy seeing those villagers you're playing the game right, in my opinion.

for the most part I try to have one of each personality, and then a dupe male personality and dupe female personality so there's an even gender split too. but if I'm island hopping and find a villager I can't pass up on then I'll make an exception because at the end of the day it's not the be all and end all.

Not really important. Was when I wanted to collect all the different DIYs but now I have most I’m not really bothered. I always said I wouldn’t have more than one of the same species but I think that islands with 10 villagers of the same species actually looks pretty neat/organised! So I’m pretty indifferent. Always open to trying new things out on my island!
