How Expanded is your House? Exterior Renovations?

5 Towns houses are full houses with exteriors with the theme house. I stopped the theme challenge year 3. I wanted a kitchen and bathroom. Full sets didn't work.
Those towns helped to house all the events and special sets. I try to get exteriors to match the houses theme.

For my other towns I just have the main full room, 2nd floor 2nd payment or a full room and the basement.
A few houses have a backroom when I have ideas.
Some of my main room are decorated and I don't want to move items out of the way for a left, right or back room.

I have tons of bells and like the cozy houses. Sad that we can't buy the Zen house until it's full upgraded. Hopefully they fix that in the next game.

All of my characters have fully expanded houses. My mayor, which is the one I play on the most, has a variety of different themes going on. One of my alts has a hotel, another has a school, and the last has a restruant. (Different types of food in each room)

I like having each of the rooms expanded fully and wish I could add more rooms on the second floor, lol.

All of my alts have fully expanded houses because their characters have ?Jobs? like grocery store, hotel, etc. so I needed the space for designing different types of rooms. I also thought that changing their exterior to zen/modern/etc. helped achieve that look. But I wanted to keep my mayor?s house more like a small and cozy home so I stopped at the 2nd floor and basement updates... since adding side rooms is what changes the shape.

For a while now, I stoped expanding my house completely. Now most of the time, I expand my 2nd
floor once and let it that way, get the basement and that's it. The main room is the living room and
kitchen at the same time, 2nd floor the bedroom and the basement is the bathroom. I don't need a
full expanded house, as I never know what I should do with all the space. Having a smaller house like
this is better for me and also quite cosy.

There was also times where I also got that one room in the back of the main room, but only if I wanted
a extra room for something.
