How does someone get all the flower types?

Other than by online trade, is there a way in the game to get different flower types? The island isn’t working for me and nooks cranny seems to be always selling the same flowers.

I can’t seem to find roses, lilies , or mums.

will they eventually appear in the shop?

That is yet to be seen. We don’t know if they do rotate eventually. Right now they don’t appear so.
I stand corrected i guess they rotate base on season

They will appear in your shop. I believe they rotate according to either month or season. I found lilies and roses around the month of June (my native is windflowers).

The Jacob's Ladders are only obtained as a spawn in a 5-star town. I'm still waiting for my first one to sprout.

I am curious to see if we will see other flowers we aren't seeing in the Earth Day update.
I had to trade for pansies. Luckily my game did allow me to buy windflower seeds in the shop but they rarely appear anymore. Those are the two flowers I was concerned about that I actually care about for my island. Hyacinths I seem to always find which I like them alot too and use them alot more often than I thought I would. They just seem nice on windy days.

You an also visit another person's island that has them in their nooks and buy the seeds. That is what I did. I don't have any of the three you need in my nooks.
