How do you usually get items you want?

I usually try to get stuff myself unless it takes too long or I can't get it in my region. Do you take satisfaction in finding items yourself, or do you prefer to trade with others to get stuff quickly?

I prefer trying to get things myself unless I'm really desperate, an example would be if it's the last item I need to complete a display. That's the only time I get impatient. I have a wishlist saved on moridb but I only publicise it when I feel like trading for a change of pace.

I don't mind trading to finish off sets/get stuff that's region exclusive but I do enjoy the satisfaction that comes with building up my collection by myself!

Yeah, I got down to 100 items missing from my catalog and then said "screw it" and made a wishlist thread. I'm probably going to have to shell out for a lot of the RV furniture, although I'm trying to build up MEOW coupons to get as much as I can ordering from other people's RVs instead of just buying the items from them.

I've never traded, mostly because I never know anybody and the idea of doing it online makes me all nervous--not because it's the internet, but because I'm socially incompetent. But I'm reaching that tricky stage where I've got like three gaps left in the museum and haven't had a new fossil in two weeks, so I might end up braving it.

Depends really, I'm not the most patient person. I have a town filled with flowers and I hardly bred any myself. I spent quite a bit of tbt on Sanrio items despite having the cards preordered, just didn't want to wait. Now I've got all the RV villagers and quite a few amiibo figures I will just obtain the new items myself as best I can

I'm not patient at all, haha. I adore trading for new items for my house, it's just fun and gets instant results. I know that's not what Animal Crossing is about but my house decor comes first. xD After that I enjoy the slow pace of AC.

Trading lol I mean it's like nearly impossible for me to get some of the items myself (I.e. Region exclusives) so not much of a choice

It depends on if I'm willing to TT or not. In Ajassa where I do TT, I prefer getting most of my stuff myself, whereas in Journey where I don't TT, I prefer trading. Especially when it comes to furniture. Whenever I get an idea for a room, I usually become excited and want to start working on decorating it right away. I don't necessarily try to obtain the items myself because it could take ridiculously long. Obtaining landscaping items is another thing, though. This year I've obtained almost everything myself because I like seeing the town grow a little every day instead of just being done with it right away.

It's a bit different with the new campgrounds items, tho. There's many I want and I already have plans for them. But I feel that if I just went ahead and got them from someone else, the campgrounds would become useless to me. I don't use amiibo cards or figures so the campgrounds is all about the items to me. I might trade for them at some point though, just not yet. I want to stay entertained by MEOW coupons and the campgrounds for a while longer, lol.

I try to find them myself or I go to busy places in hopes of street passing someone who might have an item I want, usually this doesn't work when I'm looking for something in particular. Sometimes i trade with my 2 real life friends.

I get my wishlist from trading with other people and it's easy this way to get them. ^^

I completed the catalogue (both old and new items) on one of my side towns. So most items I can just re-order them no problem. If it's an item that can't be re-ordered I'll find another way to get it on my own. If not I'll ask some of the few people I'm okay with trading with. But I dont really bother trading with strangers anymore.
