How do you use/play your Switch?

Same as @/Kittywulfe! I actually got a second monitor to play in docked mode while still being able to watch videos with my S/O over Discord. I only play in handheld mode for the occasional quick island visit if I've already settled in bed. XD Once we return to work at the office, I wouldn't get a chance to play during lunch breaks, anyways, so I wouldn't ever take my Switch with me outside the house.

Pretty much exclusively handheld for me. If I want to play something on a television, I usually just play my Xbox instead. Switch is for relaxation, which means handheld mode and laying in bed...or multitasking while walking around.

i play in docked mode for the most part because i have really bad eyesight and sometimes handheld mode is too much for me... also using the pro controller is more natural for me while it's docked

I tend to play my Switch with it docked, since I do prefer using my TV to play games when possible. That said, if I want to use my TV for something else, or if I'm wanting to play my Switch in my home office while taking a break from work, I'll use it in handheld mode (though this is like a 90/10 split of docked/handheld mode, lol). I do use my Switch Pro Controller almost exclusively when playing it, regardless of which mode it's in, though.

I have a Lite for handheld and a big boi Switch for docked mode.

But since my big Switch is in my bedroom, my Lite sees the most play.

I play handheld most of the time since I don't have my own TV (in my room), but sometimes I use the TV in our upstairs rec room/game room. It doesn't happen very often recently though since my sister is using that space for her online classes.

When I first bought mine it was 100% handheld, then when I bought a capture card I tried it on the TV screen. Since then I've shifted to about 25% handheld and 75% TV screen. The colours really do look so beautiful on a good quality screen.

I mostly play in handheld, only time I play in docked is if I'm playing a multiplayer game like Luigi's Mansion 3 or Mario and Rabbids.

I play mostly in docked mode. The only time I would play in portable is that if the power in my home went out. Thats just me.

Docked and displayed on one of my main monitors (24") is the way I roll. 👍 Some games with a lot of text (e.g.: Fire Emblem: Three Houses, specifically) start to strain my eyes. I've only used handheld mode once to make a quick AC trade.

If I had more of a reason to use handheld mode, like if I were travelling, I may find myself using it more often for platformers.

I strongly prefer keeping it on the dock and playing on the tv since the buttons on my joy cons seem to be wearing out and I use my pro controller. But alas, I share the living room with my partner and can't hog the tv all morning. 😛

I play handheld most of the time, but occassionally in docked. I like playing Splatoon in docked mode mostly so I can use the pro controller. Otherwise, I don't really have a preference for games, it just depends on what mood I'm in.

I used to play it docked only, but for Animal Crossing I'm now using it handheld so that I can watch youtube on the TV while decorating, or use it at my PC.
But Animal Crossing is the only game I'll play undocked.

I prefer handheld but if I'm playing an RPG I tend to switch gears and dock it/use the television. I recently picked up Final Fantasy seven and playing it on a handheld doesn't feel right.

I only have a Switch Lite because it was cheaper, so by default I mostly play handheld.

In order to play in a pseudo-docked mode, I use the foldable, felt kickstand in my Zelda case. I also bought a tiny bluetooth controller. The controller was bought mainly for when drifting becomes an issue in the future, but I sometimes use it now.

Playing in this pseudo form is not as pleasant as watching on a big screen. However, it does allow me to use the Lite in bed without tiring my arms.😁

I am handheld kinda person as well, and as such also opted for a switch lite. I don't think I would use docked mode aside from when playing local multiplayer games, and I already have previous gen consoles if I wanted to play Mario Party or something so I decided a regular switch just wasn't worth the extra costs to me.

I usually play with my switch docked. Makes it easier for me to see whats on the screen and I like using a controller more.

Just curious, mostly I see people online say they play their Switch 100% of the time in portable mode, I must be the only that perfers dock mode lol

1st party games I always play on TV, but some games like Overwatch run well only in portable mode. So that's one way ill just play portable at times, I never take my Switch anywhere, my job is a messy one.... so that's out the question. Lol

Share :]

I have a switch lite (boooo) so I play in portable constantly, and frequently. Some of the games I love to play are animal crossing, minecraft, stardew valley and Valkyria chronicles 4. I bought rune factory 5 and fire emblem so i'm hoping that they will be added to the list of weekly gaming sessions!
