How do you track your progress?

have been using my island journal thread as a diary of sorts, and then a photo dump lately. i save a lot of screenshots for the memories and use the acnh guide mentioned above for tracking museum progress and kk songs. don't really care about cataloging at this point, maybe in the future!

I set up a journal recently but that's still heavily under construction. So far I've actually relied mostly on my nookphone/mile app to set goals and see progress, though I suppose the answer of "I go by the way my island looks" that some of the other people here have given applies to me as well :)

I'm thinking about inputting everything into the ACNH Guide app so I don't have to write in my guide book. Other than that, I keep up with an island journal I keep on this site. The link is in my signature. ♡

I have a journal I've been keeping in character for things like villager move in/out, birthdays, events, and major construction. As far as the items, I'm trying to tick it off in the guide book.

I personally like the ACNH Travel Guide app more than the other app that's been posted here a few times. This one is more user friendly, customizable, and sleeker in my opinion.

I take a looooot of photos on my switch to track my progress. At the same time, it's become my photo album to see how far my island has progressed. It can be minor things such as a discussion between my villagers, getting a hybrid flower, or terraforming a part of my island. When you go to your photo gallery on your switch, you'd be able to see the exact date and time when you took the photo!

i have a journal that i use to track my progress and things i obtain/achieve along with the villagers i have or had but that’s about it aha ^_^

I use the ACNH Guide since you can track everything! To which villagers did you talk? Do you have all the daily fossils and stones? Which NPCs came on which day? Which critters did I already catch and donate to the museum? You can track your whole catalogue and so on.

I use the ACNH guide app for KK songs, critters, and DIYs.

The app is great, but I really wish there was some way you could sync your game's data to an app so it would just track it automatically. I'd love to track catalogued items and clothes but at this point it would take so long to go through everything.

i think it would be nice to start an irl journal, but idk if i have the patience and motivation to do that. i just started a forum journal to keep track of villagers ive had, when they move in and out, and when i get their pictures (& also to post interesting screenshots). i started tracking things in the acnh guide book when i first started my island, but ive been lazy and havent rly opened it since doing my first set of check-marking things. i may end up getting this guide app yall are talking about since going on my phone's easy enough lol

I go a bit too hard on tracking, I think.
Though, I am thinking of calming down with tracking. I'm still gonna keep using the ACNH Guide, but I'm gonna stop counting how many fossils I dig up, balloons I've popped, wasps I've caught. Gonna stop listing every bottle I've picked up and from who as well as whether I've gotten the money rock or tree. I don't need to track all this; it's not important.
I'll track the new things: DIYs, fossils, fish, art, bugs, and reactions. I'll track new villagers and the cute things the villagers do. I just need to be less...anal-retentive about tracking. Being obsessive just makes the game less fun and is somethin I gravitate towards often when playin games like these.
