How do you store your items?

What is your method when it comes to storing items? Do you just drop them in your town, use the locker, store them in the museum rooms, or use the letters at post office? What method do you think is the most efficient?

I like to hoard items so I ran out of space pretty quick. I would like to know how other people store their items c:

My closet plus my museum rooms. I try to go through it every so often.

I store extra stuff on my alt characters: one holds fossils and random unorderables, one holds gyroids and extra gardening stuff, and one holds unorderable furniture sets and ores. My museum is basically my mayor's giant walk-in closet and her locker is just full of random stuff most of the time, mostly more clothes that I can't cram into the museum.

I've heard people saving letters as storage, but if I store anything at the post office I'll never look at it again so I don't use it. I use the letters I carry for holding tools though.

Using alts seems pretty efficient to me, but the biggest downfall is that you can't do plot resets and other things that require a fresh character (if you use all three slots). I like having the storage space and extra characters/houses to decorate though.

I use normal storage. I'm pretty much done decorating my house, so it's mostly filled with gardening supplies.

I use my other three characters to store items. One holds saplings, bushes, flowers and fruit and the other two hold random clothes and furniture. Before I had my other characters I filled up my museum so that's no longer an option for me.
I try not to drop items on the floor because it looks messy.

i literally just throw everything into my upstairs room and museum rooms...

I use my closet and the museum rooms. When I run out of space, I try to get rid of items I know I'll never use anyway or can just reorder. But I fear that eventually I'll just have to make extra characters for space. Not the end of the world, but I prefer to just have my mayor's house in my town.

I do a little bit of all of them, to be honest, but all in different ways. I store things that I'm going to put in my houses or wear in my lockers, along with unorderables and things like that. I keep some gifts attached to letters until I figure out what to do with them. I use my museum rooms for gyroids and some rare items that I like but don't have anywhere else to display.

I used to keep everything I got in the game, but no longer, because I started running out of space. Nowadays, I sell everything I can reorder unless I know I'm going to use it (if I have a room planned, for example). Things that I don't like or that I'd be keeping "just in case" are things I sell in Re-Tail, because I can always order them again if I change my mind.

My main 3 tools are in my inventory, the rest I keep in letters. I arrange clothing & accessories, furniture items, fruits and saplings and keep them in my mayor's storage. Other things like, mushrooms and some furniture into alts and then my museum keeps fruits, island items, unorderables/DLC, bush starts and saplings.

i store my tools n similar stuff in my letters that are on me, like so

so it all fits nicely.

I use my closets and my alts. It's not like I have thousands of things though, I have a bit of OCD and if I see my house/town messed I kinda freak out. I usually get rid of lots of things (and then sometimes I regret doing it xD)

I'm trying to clear it out, so all of my random items for sale are in my alts locker, and mine is filled with my clothes & gardening supplies (mostly just hoarding bush starts in case I need them).

I never thought of using the museum rooms for storage...That is literally genius!!!

I use my museum rooms to store clothes. Sort of like a massive walk-in closet.

These are all great ideas! I wonder why I never thought of putting my tools inside letters OTL
Considering making an alt just for storage...

I use both my locker storage as well as the museum The museum holds all my perfect cherries from when I was chopping down my trees and replanting them, as well as my mannequins haha my locker stores everything else; bush starts, music boxes, clothes, etc.

I store my reorderables in my lockers and my unorderables in Museum exhibits. But since I don't have the Museum 2f floor i'll just have to put the unorderables in my locker until then.

I try to keep my closets organised. Part A for furniture, Part B for clothes and shoes and Part C for anything else. I cleaned them out not long ago, but I'm so glad i have a trashcan in my house, it saved me a lot of time.

I keep tradeable stuff in two of my museum rooms. The other two museum rooms I use for clothes that I like. I keep rare sets and items on display in my alt's houses, and some are in my house too. I also have a storage/weeding town that I keep Gracie clothes in, and loads of gardening supplies and general junk. I try to keep my locker organised but it gets full up quickly, then I just dump it in my storage town! I don't keep anything except tools & a yellow balloon in my pockets.
