AC has always been a game that I use to relax and just chill. During the week I usually don't play more for two hours a day and just do daily tasks plus one other thing like fishing or maybe moving flowers around or something of the like. On weekends I usually play for longer and try to take up bigger projects like terraforming.
I absolutely love the day by day style of AC so I don't time travel because for me personally it ruins the calm and unique flow of the game. I used to get stressed looking at Reddit and seeing all these absolutely amazing designs but then I stopped going on there as much and stick to these forums where you can't see those pictures as easily.
I time travel for cycling islanders and terraforming, I discourage too much use of modernized landscaping and would rather like it being forest-y and dream-like (I haven't reached that point but eventually I will. There's no "perfect" order and it's pretty much sorta something that would remind me of my home (I live deep in a forest in my region.)
Also I think I like to focus more on my villagers than making my island the "youtube 5 star" island so that's a thing too. I recently dismantled my Pokemon map project to accommodate new building spaces in the future and to give others a lawn to enjoy as well.
honestly, I'm really bad at answer this question. Some days, I just feel like aggressively cycling until half my villager roster has changed. Some days I don't like to TT at all, don't want to play online at all, and just want to decorate.
I guess my answer is just... "whatever I feel like doing." I don't have goals, but I guess I just like to do what gives me the most enjoyment in the moment.
i play very casually. i go day by day, do my daily chores, etc. i’ve only tt’d a few times and did so to catch a shark but other than that, i’ve been playing ‘naturally’. i also do a lot of trades so that cuts into my playtime a bit but i guess i’m what people would consider to be a casual gamer lol
Animal Crossing is the only video game I play. I don't time travel since I never did as a kid/my schedule doesn't really allow me to play for long periods of time. However, I don't judge those who do time travel. I understand that some people want to unlock certain tools/buildings more quickly so that they can unleash their creativity.
The museum is my main focus. I never sell bugs/fish if its my first time catching them, they're always donated.
I also like every villager on my island to be of a different species.
I don’t TT, and during the week usually just move flowers around, talk to my villagers, and do my daily chores (fossils, money tree and rock). My island is complete in terms of terraforming, and I plan on keeping my first 10 villagers until I get their pictures then I’ll start moving in a new squad. I don’t have a list of permanent dreamies, though Roscoe is my GOAT - even he will eventually move.
When I can play more I like to visit friends and fish to work on my critterpedia log. I try and sky search for stars but won’t stand there “doing nothing” for more than 5 minutes before moving on.
I bought a new switch just for ACNH ($400 total) as a slurge, so my reasoned to myself that if I play once a day for at least a year so it'll approximately equal to $1 a day.. LOOOOL As such I'm a very slow player, no TT - I only complete like one tiny area of decorating each week, slowly working on my dreamies (1 down so far lol) and I really love growing flowers so there goes all my time ;u; I also am busy with uni so I don't get to play that long each day which suits me fine!!
I play normally and do daily routines, like talking to my villagers, doing requests, trying to finish the museum. But I'm working on a large town project right now on my island, so I've been doing some relocation and lots of terraforming.
I don't really have any big goals for my island, just doing daily chores and filling up the museum. I've been moving buildings/bridges/inclines and terraforming a (very small) bit each day when I get some inspiration from Twitter. My main project is getting all hybrids at the moment, and secondary is collecting DIYs. After hybrids are done, I will probably work a bit more on filling out my catalog. For whatever reason, paying for full catalog sets and going to people's islands for Celeste/Redd feels... too easy? So I'm trying to do more random "pick one drop one"/catalog parties to fill out the catalog, and waiting for Redd and Celeste to come naturally. I want to keep my interest in the game for a while, so I'm taking it slow.
I like decorating ; u;
I'm not super concerned with getting all of the fish/bugs/fossils in the 1st year so I spend a lot of time working on custom designs for my island, planning rooms in my player homes, terraforming, and making cute outfits in the able sisters/my closet.
I also TT a bit to accomplish some of this like moving bridges, getting the right shrubs, etc.
I think I play in a style that would be considered pretty non-mainstream at this point. I got my first AC game (Wild World) in 2010 when I was twelve and I still play New Horizons the way I played Wild World when I was a kid because that's what is fun for me. I don't time travel, I don't really do paths or terraforming, I don't micromanage every detail of my town (eg I let flowers grow wherever they feel like haha), I don't plan ten villagers that I want to keep forever as I like getting random move-ins sometimes. Every day I just play for about 40 minutes when I wake up and I talk to all my villagers, do requests for them, and try to pay off a very small amount of my loan. I really just enjoy the day-by-day/community aspect and don't really try to make my town perfect or anything.
I play in a fairly laid back manner I think. I don't time travel, and I'm not on the trading boards trying to get every diy and fossil and furniture unlocked within the first month. In fact, I'm trying to do what I can to make this game last as long as possible for me. I want to still be enjoying this over a year later. I'm making an effort to acquire items myself. I have traded to acquire villagers I wanted in my town that I don't have amiibo for, and for diys that are no longer acquirable (the easter and cherry blossom ones).
I reset my island once after about 20 days worth of playtime, due to some aspects of the map I became increasingly displeased with. Besides that, I don't plan to be someone who resets every few months due to boredom.
At this point in my gameplay, I'm currently working on terraforming and decorating around my town. I've been having so much fun seeing everything gradually look nicer and nicer
