if it’s a rare island like hybrid island or money rock island, i’ll grab some of that and look to see if there’s any message in a bottle on the beach. if it’s a boring island with an ugly villager, i’ll leave lmao
i'm the same - i really want to try and get the best use out of them. i see who the villager is first! then i hit all the rocks, shake all the trees, cut them all down for wood, take any non-native fruit/flowers, and then fish and catch bugs (i only keep things worth 1,000 bells or more). then i go back with a full inventory and then go again. it takes a long time but like,,, it's so worth it. the most islands i've been to in a row is 7 though, so i imagine it's way different if you have a ton of tickets to spare!

oo forgot to mention this but i also try to complete any nook miles+ achievements! if it says plant a fruit tree, i'll just plant a coconut there because i don't like planting so many trees on my island LOL
Eh, it really depends. If I'm running low on materials, I'll definitely destroy the island and bring everything back. But I pretty much just run onto the island, check who the villager is and leave. It kinda depends on my mood though. Tonight I was looking for a villager to fill an empty plot I had and since I was low on stone and wood I collected those materials and now I've got a nice stock of each.
i just get the item/diy recipe, dig up any fossils and leave. if i get rarer islands i do more but for normal islands i don't think it's worth spending time on them
it depends! if i only have a few tickets, i'm more thorough with gathering all the resources i need, but if i'm planning on visiting a lot of islands at once, i usually just check the villager and look for a message bottle and then leave. if it's a hybrid island i always take as much as i can carry!
1) shake trees till i get furniture
2) check beaches for diy bottle
3) if feeling like it, hit rocks and generally only pick up gold nugs or money
That's it. I can get wood on my own island so I don't bother on island tours. You can bring some mats to craft an axe if you land on bamboo island, but otherwise I just travel with shovel, net, pole vault, and ladder. I drop everything but the ladder on islands when I want to stuff my pockets.
