How do you organize your items in the store room?

I love the new storage and new items but I always feel like the stuff I have is unorganized.

How do you organize your items? Or do you at all?

I'm a pack rat. I have too much stuff. I think what I'll end up doing is selling a lot of my stuff or giving it away so I can organize better. Heck, it got to the point where I bought another cartridge to put some of my stuff in. xD

When I first got the storage I was happy that I didn't need to organize anything to save space. I just crammed everything and anything in there lol.

Right now it's just a huge mess cause I'm resetting one of my towns, so it's a clutter of junk from the town I'm planning to reset. Not looking forward to sorting it.

But usually my method is
Clothing items
Furniture items
'Etc' items (landscape tools, extra fruit, trees/bushes/mushrooms, etc)

The first tab is furniture, the second is clothing/letter paper, and the third is organics (mushrooms, fruits, sharks, etc.). Furniture is my most-filled tab after I traded for a bunch of amiibo stuff here. I'm such a terrible hoarder, this secret storage is feeding my need for stuff!

i've only used the first tab and it's for extra clovers/starts/trees etc. other than that its probably not going to be very organised, lmao.

In the first tab are villager pictures. Second tab are my favorite furniture pieces. Third, random items. Fourth, clothing items.

In my closet there's now;
1st tab - extra tools, golden axe and such and gold nuggets
2nd tab - shirts and shoes
3rd tab - dresses and accessories
4th tab - fruit

In my secret storage;
1st tab - carpet and wallpaper
2nd tab - furniture (but only unorderables)
3rd tab - furniture take 2
4th tab - extra villager pics

I basically don't, whenever I need something I have to scroll through everything but I have good memory so often I just memorize where I put everything.

I first collect all the plant items (like bush starts n flowers and stuff) in my inventory and then swap them with whatever items i have in the first few drawers. When I have all the plant items in the first few drawers, i get the tools and just,,, keep swapping them with whatevers already in the next drawers. Then I get clothing or furniture and just continue until all my stuff is stored

I try to limit how much stuff I have stored, so I'm only just beginning to use the secret storage now. But I do love keeping everything organised, as much as I can anyway.

Closet
A - I try to keep this tab for any furniture I might use personally. Right now it's full of remodelled items and unorderables that I may use once I figure out my last couple rooms.
B - Tools, wetsuits and saplings. Mostly stuffed full with hydrangea starts for when I've figured out where I want to plant them.
C - Clothes! Basically everything I might wear is kept in here, although I have four of my favourite outfits on display with the mannequins. This is just for extra bits and pieces to mix and match, I guess.

Secret storage
Tab 1 - Now my first tab is beginning to get quite full. It's full of things I may have for trade. Before I just kept all of them in my basement or in the last page of my C tab, but now I can just stuff them in the secret storage and it feels so much better. Again, I try to keep all the items in groups, like clothes together, furniture together, etc.
Tab 2 - Gyroids. I never used to bother collecting them but I'm starting to hold onto them now. Before I never really liked the idea of having the place cluttered with them. I might trade them.
Tab 3 - Currently has a couple pages of turnips.

Everything else is empty right now.

I only use secret storage right now because sometimes my game quits unexpectedly when I open closets :x

1st tab - clothing
2nd tab - food items or small furniture that goes on top of things
3rd tab - big furniture
4th tab - furniture i want to gift villagers / misc. items to sell or giveaway

In my museum I usually hoard bush starts and saplings, bamboo, perfect fruit, unidentified fossils and fish, etc. I'm starting to hoard things like fish in my museum so I can donate them slowly when I get the initiative ;D I'm not really in a rush to complete my museum anyways. Oh and sometimes I hoard beetles and sharks to sell to lazy villagers when they come camping.

One area for furniture, one for clothes, one for wallpaper and rare items i want to save, and one for miscellaneous, i might have to expand the furniture, i like to use it to swap out furniture sets

I usually organize it so I know where all my stuff is.

I use my closet solely for the proper seasonal clothing, shoes, hats, and accessories. And I use my new secret storage for other clothes, miscellaneous objects, and street pass items and other tools.
