Do you like to have your villagers in little neighbours or just in one off areas by themselves? Currently I've got my team set out in groups of 2 in different locations around the island but am thinking of moving them around a bit. Just trying to gage ideas from what you guys like :)

I have mine in kind of....mini neighborhoods? I have Bam, Maple, and Raymond around my entrance. Then I have Stitches, Coco, and Diana in their little section of the map. Lastly I have Audie, Dom, Fuchsia in their own section and Kabuki is a little further down closer to the museum! I've always liked the look of the neighborhood kind of area but I feel like it's a little unnatural looking as well ; v ;

i have them in small neighborhoods.

i have the 2 folks who paid good money to have their house in a nice spot. i got the 2 double house areas. and i got the 4 beachfront properties :)

i have my villagers in a small residential area at the top right of my island c:
4 top - the cats : Lolly, Rosie, Raymond, Ankha
3 mid - Marina, Judy, Coco
3 bot - Audie, Marshal, Whitney

real nice since theyre surrounded by hedges

I don’t have neighborhoods set up and my villagers are scattered around my island in groups of 2-3 all around depending on area. Given this, I also very rarely have villagers that have yards because they have the entire environment itself to themselves. For example, I have a Little Asia section where all the Asian amenities are (the spa, bamboo forest, etc.) and Zucker and Croque live there. Marshal lives with me in our own three level coastal area near the private beach which is the best part of the island because well...it’s MY house lol and ONLY Marshal is allowed to live near me. 😂 Then Stitches and Maple have their own lovey section in the forest area wherein they share a heart lake and a picnic area overlooking the campsite. Marina lives by the beach and guards the lighthouse. Mira will live by the lunar nightclub / stargazing highest point of the island area because you know, Superhero bunny Sailor Venus. You get my drift...so I don’t really have yards or neighborhoods. More like areas for each and every one of my villagers.

I have the creative sense of a rock so mine are just in two rows by the airport. It makes looking for DIYs easy at least. I like the multi-level neighborhoods that seem to be popular with Japanese players but I don't have the patience for all that terraforming...

i kind of just have my villager plots scattered around my island - as long as they’re not cramped together and aren’t in the way of my paths/landscape, i’m not really picky on where my plots go aha

i like to have my plots scattered about! some areas might be mini neighborhoods though with like 2 houses or 3 houses at most. it seems a lot more natural that way :] personally i don't like the big neighborhoods with all of the houses just lined up.. i like to use the houses themselves as decoration and i can't wait to make everyone's cute little yards once i'm done terraforming and moving all of the houses!

I have all my villagers and myself living on 1/3 of my island in a small neighbourhood while the rest of my island are for cafes and my shopping street

Mine have their own residential areas. So my shops and one house along with town hall are near the airport and separated from everything else using a river. then up from the shop and to the left is a museum. To the right is an orchard and then the first villager houses. tier 1 (ground level) has 2 houses separated by a walkway and an incline and they have their own little space set up in front of the river (since it's pretty close). on tier 2 just past the incline are 4 more houses in a little square and mind right is a path towards my main house. they still have their own hedged off gardens.

the rest are to the right of my town hall past the river. tier 1 has two houses with one long garden and a maze ahead of them and a camp site to the right. then on the left theres an incline and on tier 2 I have two more villagers with a shared garden and a hybrid flower garden in front. to the left is another incline leading up to my main house. ^^

I have built a residential road which spans the entire west side of the island, every house has a garden which 7’m trying to theme according to the villager living there and between the two rows of houses there’s a river. I was aiming for a small city like feel, and I think it became really cozy

Evidently still a work in progress (moving Filbert's house today), but I have mine all close together in a town area. There is a little space outside each home for if/when I decide to decorate later.

Instead of giving each resident their own yard, I created common recreation areas near their houses. There’s a community pool, picnic area, playground, garden plots and a little carnival.

currently i have my villagers spread out in 3 different sections around my main building area. but god i really love how it looks when all the houses are in little residential areas. i dont think im gonna change my set up though bc since theyre spread out away from the plaza i get to see them in random places of my island and its really cute

Mine used to be scattered all over my island, then I rearranged them into small neighborhoods (4 and 6). I initially wanted them all to be together, but I didn't have enough space without extensively terraforming my island - something which I'm lazy to do at this point.

I might get to it eventually, though. I'd have to spend another 200k to move the houses together.

I have my villagers' houses set up similarly to what others have posted. 5 rows, 2 columns, although they are tiered/split up by elevation.

Mine are scattered but in areas that match them like Raymond being near Nook’s Cranny, Stitches being near the park area, etc. I’m going for a more rural vibe hence spreading their houses around.

I had mine spread out, but recently moved them all to be grouped together just to make my rounds easier to see who is crafting.

I have 2 neighborhoods for my villagers. The first one is a group of 4, lined up 2x2. The second one has 6, lined up 3 houses in each row.

I like having them together, since it makes landscaping easier, plus I can see who is home for crafting, visiting, or needs medicine much easier.
