I never hoard them anymore. The duplicates I get are usually common ones, so I sell them. If I get duplicates I know someone is looking for, I give them away instead.
First, I would trade or give them away. But no one ever really needed them, and I would accumulate them quicker than I could get rid of them that way. So then I started letting my secondary player start learning them, which cut down on a lot of them! But now, that secondary villager's house is FULL of these things. I will create another character soon and I will have them learn it. And so on. Until I have 8 players, and then I will just throw them all. Lol
I get a lot of visitors on my Island because for various reasons and since I don’t care about my town rating I have them at my entrance next to a sign that says for them to take them. If it’s a common recipe I’ll probably sell it if I remember to do it.
I don't have an abundance of duplicates to even worry about. If I get one that I already know, I just sell it at retail. I suppose that's one of the few perks of being more of a solo animal crossing player.
I typically save the recipes until the next time I open my gate. I put them on the ground, and my visitors can take any that they need. Any that aren't taken get sold the next day.
I sell any common ones and store the others in my basement. Once I've amassed a collection of them that my friends don't need, I open my gate to give them away to anyone who wants them.
I've built a second island where I can put them and let others ditch them too. Just got 3 stars on it so can terraform it soon and open up, keep an eye out in the airport forum tuesday or wednesday for the thread fully explaining it and maybe dont sell anymore diy to nooks before then
I've done a few giveaways on here and some other places. But mostly now I just sell any as soon as I get them unless they're the more popular ones (I'll probably give those away once I get tired of it piling up). The flower crowns/wreaths I'm purely saving for trades for flower diys I don't have (once I complete my collection I'll just give away the spares).
i ask my partner if they have it, and if not then it goes to them. otherwise it goes in a little trash bin i have outside. i have enough bells that selling them is more of a hassle than just dumping.
I save rare ones like some of the hybrid wreaths at my marketplace. I also save some seasonal or holiday diys for people that are on SH islands. That being said, for the common ones, I have a handy trashbin also at my marketplace.
I used to keep them in my island rep's basement, then moved them to the beach when I started using the basement for turnip storage. But now I want to grow some lily of the valley so I'm probably going to sell them at nooks soon so that my island can go back to five stars
I used to have a gigantic library of extras before. I cluttered them up in my beach area. In the end, I decided to toss them away since no one wants them anymore. I only kept the wreath and crown recipes.
I feel bad, but I mostly just sell them to nooklings. <:3 I keep telling myself I'll keep them for trades and stuff, but I forget or I run outta storage space and they're the first thing to go.
