How do you folks deal with multiple towns?

I?ve been seeing that some people have two, three, or even four towns! You must have some dedication to keeping your towns in good condition! If I may ask, how do you do it? One town is already enough for me. Having two will just stress me out more than having a relaxing experience.

I think it depends on how much time you have to play and how far along your towns are. Some people just have more time to play and run out of things to do in their first town, I guess.

For me, one town kept me very busy for well over a year, but now that I've finished landscaping and decorating, I don't need to invest as much time in it. It's now just maintenance and completing my badges. But that doesn't fulfill my creative needs, so I'm planning on starting a second town soon.

how do people have multiple towns anyways?

You have to own multiple copies of the game. It can be multiple cartridges or a physical cartridge and a digital copy, but you can only have one town per copy of the game.

For me I found I was only really going on my first game to make sure nobody moved (I've had it for years), and I had ideas for a new town with a proper theme, so I caved and got another when the opportunity presented itself.

It's a handful, I'll tell you that much. I really don't have time to do more than make sure no one moves on most days, but I love taking the time to start over from scratch!

Well, my name has been called, lol.

I didn't start with 4 towns, I bought one at a time. Because I played in one town for so long, it's very developed so it doesn't need alot of time dedicated to it. My other 3 towns however, esp Luminosa and Secret, needs lots of time. I find it easier to dedicate a day (when I have a day off) for one or 2 towns to do serious work in, like landscaping, decorating houses, ect... rather then trying to play in all 4 in one day. This way I actually get a decent amount of work done. Sometimes I load the other towns for simple errands, or to transfer stuff.

I manage mine relatively simply, but that's only because my preferred method of play involves time travel.

I've always preferred the time travel style of play since my days playing the GameCube game as a kid, I just prefer being able to skip from one day to the next at my leisure instead of waiting for real time. What I do is keep a log; after finishing playing in the town for the (actual) day/play session, I'll write down the in-game time and date of when I finished playing. That way I can just travel back to that exact time and date later if necessary, whether the next real day or actual months or a year from then, and not suffer any of the ill-effects of time away from the game (villagers moving away, messy hair, etc.) because the game will recognize that in-game time/date to be the exact same, even still having the same items sold from the shops if you bought any. To tie in with this, in all except one of my towns (I have 4) I have the Beautiful Town ordinance so that I don't have to worry about watering flowers and it takes a bit of the hassle out of things.

I only really concentrate on one or two of my towns at any one time, depending on what exactly I'm interested in doing in the towns at the time, so all things considered it's mostly carefree. My biggest concern is making sure none of my dream villagers plan to move out, though that's pretty standard for most people I would think, and since I play day-to-day, albeit with time travel (to clarify, even though I time travel to play multiple days per play session, I tend to go from one in-game day to the next instead of making big jumps of months or weeks), it's no bigger deal for me than for anyone else.

Finally, I don't really tie myself down to Animal Crossing. I can get addicted to it for a while and play it every day for a month or something, or I could play it for a few days and then put it down for a few months. There are others things I put my attention toward, so it always keeps coming back to the game fresh and never overwhelming.

I only go on my second town, which is my newest one, and I play daily. I just leave my main town because my work there is done :3

I have been playing “Animal Crossing: New Leaf” since August 2013.

My first town, Applewin, is still alive. I put it that way because I tend to do little with it. It is the most complete town. And there isn’t anything new to do with it. (Well, I could collect more fish and bugs. But, I mention how much interest that is to me, personally, further down in my comment.)

My second town, ACNLpics, was created by me after I had a lackluster town and I had an idea: Create a town with all villagers’ pictures on display in humans’ houses.

My third town, Foster, was created because I shuffled Sprinkle to more than one town (she started in a former town since eliminated). I came up with a terrific map for a town launched in early-2015. I’m glad I did it. Foster is a for Sprinkle.

Keystone is my fourth town. I can’t recall when I started it (either late-2015 or first half of 2016). But, I had the feeling of wanting to experience more villagers—and, with that in mind, it also helps to explain why I have over ten game cartridges.

Koopie is my fifth town. I have held it on a specific town date so I can use the turnips prices to fund other towns. It is not fully developed. It needs more public works projects. But, it looks good enough (as was mentioned by some forum members who visited that town on the my 04.19.2019 topic thread).

My sixth town I have available for a Dream is Beauty. I came across a really good map; was able to envision what to do with it; and committed to it. And I love the cast of villagers.

These six towns are listed in my signature.

I have more towns. I intend to get two more posted, in separate topics, when it is right for me to do so.

This is all possible, for me, because of reasons some other forum members have mentioned.

I have more than one 3DS console. This is very much necessary to speed things along more effectively.

One thing I don’t do, as some others do, is commit so much time to trying to complete a town’s museum. I don’t like fishing. I don’t like the bugs which can attack your human character. (That creeps me out.) I do enough to get the game going. I will do things for the town museum that are satisfying enough for me. (An example: the art.)

I happen to love the game. A lot of pleasure with. I like the connections—especially with discovering an appeal in some villagers other might not find all that appealing or that I didn’t know are so appealing. (One example: The Smug mouse Chadder is a good-looking and sweet character.)

A person who owns several copies of “Animal Crossing: New Leaf” does so because of the great pleasure he/she has playing the game—and, in a way, it is a hobby. Creation and development of towns—no matter the level of completion—maintains the interest of the player in finding the experience of playing “Animal Crossing: New Leaf” very stimulating.

I just counted 29 towns. I keep track of dates and times played on notepads so they're scattered out in all months and 2017/2018/2019. Most get ignored for months at a time and I'm really only playing 4 or 5 at this time with emphasis on 3. Screwy? Maybe, but it's my only vice. ;)

I have two towns, but right now I only play seriously in one of them. Fireleaf is my main town while Taiga is more for multiplayer stuff. I have enough trouble managing one town some weeks, so I can't imagine what it's like to deal with 3+ towns at once.

I usally play one than the 4 towns i own. Just like Mayor Missy said, I hardly have time for 4.
I do check the other towns once in a while, like for PWPs and stuff

I only have two towns. I pretty much neglect my second town and just mess around with it. So even with one additional town I don't manage it fairly well at all. If I was serious, I probably could do it.

I was wondering if hoodathotit would be post here, and I am not disappointed. Though, I don't recall it being 29 the last time.
