It's been over a month since New Leaf came out and I want to hear how people are feeling about their towns so far. Are you completely satisfied with the decisions you've made? Are you considering starting over? How do you feel about your residents? I'll start~ because we all hate that person who starts a thread like this without giving their own answer

I created my town, Hanamura, on June 13th. I was lucky to get it a day before it came out where I live (Scotland, UK)! I only had maybe an hour to play because I was going to a formal dinner followed by an award show that night, but I really wanted to create my town before I left so that the starting date would be the same as the date the game arrived. I didn't think too hard about a name and I wasn't fussed on a map - I just made my decision from the first four offered to me.

Starter Villagers:
Peanut, Filbert, Vesta, Chow, and Tiffany.

My villagers have, of course, shuffled around since then. Vesta and Chow moved out while Keaton, Pashmina, Bam, Blanche, Lolly, and Whitney have moved in. So now my town looks like this:

I'm semi-happy with my villagers at the moment. I adore Filbert, Bam, and Whitney - but the others I won't fight to hold on to. Tiffany I've been actively trying to get rid of since the very beginning - and I'm getting a little tired of Keaton, Pashmina, and Blanche.

This is my town layout:

I like my map, but I do wonder what I would have ended up with if I'd reset a few times. People who have come to my town have complimented my layout, and I don't dislike it, but I do still wonder. As for my town's name, Hanamura: surprisingly, it was a name I came up with on the fly and I'm still really happy with it. I can't think of a name I like more than this.

Overall, I'm happy with my town. I enjoy playing it everyday and I have no urge to get rid of it. I don't go into and think, "I wish I'd done this differently" - but at the same time I am very tempted to pick up a second copy of the game just to give me the chance to do things differently. However, I think I would need to wait for the game to come down in price first - and who knows how long that might take? :(

So, what about you? How do you feel about your town?

I reset for a week to get my town layout, and whilst many won't think it was worth it I'm extremely happy with what I've got now. My town hall is perfectly aligned with my town square, re-tail is in a fantastic spot, my house has a perfect view over the waterfall onto the beach... I have a winding river too which makes it very easy to use PWPs to block villagers from building in certain areas. I essentially have half the town cordoned off to use as I please now. :D

I suppose the only negative is that I'm a week behind everyone else.

I reset a couple times. I had great towns, but a hard time building bridges. I finally settled on a layout that suited my needs, with my house in the middle with no way for any villagers to get too close to it.

My town def. has its flaws- but that's okay. There are no paths yet, but I like that my waterfall runs down to the beach & that my home is centered along w/ the Mayor's Office.

Tina, your original villagers consisted of 2x squirrels? Very lucky if you like squirrels! ^o^ Also, your river is a bridge builders best friend- just create some space between each bridge. (=

I still have my same town from Day 1. I dislike some villagers at the beginning, but I guess I've to accept them, over than one month. I am beginning to regret running everywhere, so I started growing flowers everywhere, so I can't run without destroying them. I also regret where I put the Roost Cafe and the Police Station, if I were to put paths, both building would obstruct some paths. I also wished I started with a West Coast Town, not an east coast town, I would love to face the sunset on the beach. Resetting my game would delete all my progress, so I'll just stick with my current town :)

1 more thing: I also have 3 Pig villagers -Lazy, Snooty, and Uchi. I am hoping at least one of them move out.

I am tempted to restart, the only things holding me back are the shops I've unlocked and Agent S and Marshall in my town, who I really like.

I love my town. I love most of my villagers (truffles is gross and gruff is too but he's cool). I managed to get most of my villagers in a good spot. I even made a lil village on the left side of town. But I'm running out of room in my town fast and all my plans for the town are going into the trash thanks to the true mayor of Starvale, Isabelle. But oh we'll. I'll adjust and think of better places for my projects. Not my dream town but whatever. I will still love it. I started on July 4th which is a fun day too start on.

I wish i'd thought about paths when I started. I've never used them before and realized how hard it was with all my villagers by the coast.

Overall I like it. I'm still working on getting out villagers I don't want, but that's just a minor complaint.

I do like my town, but im thinking of having a fresh start, and will try to get Vesta at the beginning aha :) plus ill plan it more this time, and make the campsite a seluded area etc, only worried about getting the police back quickly
Shops not too fussed on, still lots of summer left.. i wont TT
And items if i leave them somewhere, and money, then i can upgrade really fast etc

The squirrels were my favourite of my starter villagers. Filbert and Peanut's colour schemes just compliment each other so well! And they're both still in my town now. <3

Due to the simplicity of my river I didn't actually feel the need to create a second bridge until today! The straight river makes my town very easy to navigate around. x) The only flaw is that the water flows left to right. That's the only thing I dislike about it, haha.

My offer to hold onto things for you still stands. :)

I love my town. In the beginning I restarted a whole bunch of times to see what maps I could get and settled on a town that has the beach to the south and to the west and the water fall to the east with the river running down on the right side of my village to the beach. All my villager's houses were in good spots so when I put down paths it all lined up perfectly, at least until Wart Jr moved in, his house is in the way. In the process of making him move out.

I love my town! It has flaws, like the beach is somewhat small compared to other and there is a little part of my map in the top right corner that bugs me.

I wish I had drawn a layout with all the public works project before I started building and putting down paths. I have less room than I would like. I wish I had a beautiful town like in some dream towns I've visited...Right now, though, I'm trying to get
villager's pictures and public work projects.

My villagers I love! I started with Peanut, Lobo, Gladys, Maelle, and Joey...Maelle, Gladys, and Lobo are still in my town. Bianca, Apollo, Diva, Sterling, Marshal, Pecan, Anchovy, Sylvia, Octavian, and Pinky have all moved in since, but some have now left.

My biggest regret is not planning.

My town is all I asked for. I have a beautiful layout; my house is right near the Town Hall and the event plaza, and Re-Tail is just across the river.

4/5 of my original villagers have moved out since I took office on June 18th. Nate, Monty, Bill and Fauna all moved out. Portia stayed, though. God bless Portia <3

I have Portia, Julian, Cherry, Knox, Mathilda, Jitters, Merry, Alice and Bones. I still need one more animal villager from my campsite; can't wait to see who that is.

I first got it on June 9th and started a town called Metro. Beetween the four maps I was given, I didn't care for any of them. When Nintendo released screenshots of what the maps look like, back in October or whenever, saw one that I liked and the map I picked looked nothing like that one. So, I got to my town and I hated my character's face. About an hour later, I reset and started a town with the name I was origonally planning to use. So, I named it Acreaya and the fisrt set of maps I got after resseting included my dream map. The only problem was I couldn't place my house where I wanted. XD But, over all, my town rocks so much. I lke it a lot.

My town is alright, I'm not a big fan of where everyone's houses are. I don't like to lay down paths because I'm lazy and I never really saw the need for them, but I see they make towns look more organized in New Leaf. My town feels really unorganized and very small. There are like 3 areas where there's just houses then greenery everywhere else.

I wouldn't want to start over my town because I've worked so hard on what I already have. I'm just hoping some of my annoying villagers move out and some cool ones move in soon.

I just feel bad when I'm told my town has been visited as a dream village because my town is so boring to me xD

I'm happy with my current town, unlike my previous three towns.

There's a lot of space for the future when I place the campsite, police station, and cafe. I was able to get all my villagers houses in the bottom left corner via resetting method. I personally didn't like my villagers at first, but they're beginning to grow on me. I really love the symmetric river. I won't lay paths down, I prefer the dirt paths that are made with the grass ware. This is my first New Leaf town where I haven't time traveled and it's quite nice!

I love my town!!!!
I restarted after about a week and I fell in love with my town map!! (its pretty similar to Mayor Joshy's of Mimin) My starter villagers were hideous, but they have all moved out now and I have all lovely villagers (Peanut, Rosie, Agnus, Bruce, Pekoe, Graham, Lionel, Zucker & Tucker) I have built a few community projects and my town feels generally accessible with the 2 bridges :) plus its circle grass woooo!
