How do you feel about your current town?

My current town of Ansvar has been going for over a year now, and even though I love the layout and it's honestly perfect, I just feel unhappy with it. I'm currently finding myself wanting to grab one of my abandoned NL gamecards to make a new town. So many people on here are attached to their towns, and I wish I had the same passion, but I feel so easily bored. Does anyone else feel this way, or is it just me?

I feel the same way. My town is pretty but there is something about starting over that makes me have multiple towns, and yet I don't seem to get satisfaction from it. I think I'm just ready for the New Horizons.
 
I have two towns, one that I've been working on for a while with a bunch of bells I got from Tom Nook. The other I'm building from the ground up. I'm finding I'm enjoying the first town much more since I'm not always working to get something done. It's a challenge to build a brand new town with no bells to do it with, but it's not always fun. It feels like a grind. It's more enjoyable when I can just do what I want when I want and not have to worry about paying for it. Also it's built up a lot more and it doesn't look empty.
 
I only have one town that I non-stop worked on the first 2 years, then everything just slowed down because everything was just...finished...complete...and no more space for anything. Even my museum rooms are dressed to the nines. I wish I could just buy a second town at least, but I know I would have no life if I did that. xD
 
I think my town is okay. I know it could be better especially after seeing other people's town. There's so much effort put into them.
 
my town needs major work, im still trying to get all my dreamies and put them in actual good spots by plot resetting (i used to not care), and im trying to unlock pwps i actually like. im also resisting the urge to reset!!! D:
 
I'm actually really happy with my town. It's about as complete as it's going to be after a year and a half of work. The only thing that will change is that I'll continue to cycle out villagers every now and then to keep things fresh. I don't have a ton of dreamies and I like seeing new faces and meeting new villagers. Now I'm just working on completing all the badges. I already have a complete museum.

Since I finished decorating my town, I do occasionally feel the pull to start up a second town because as much as I love my town, it's no longer a creative outlet. I do already own a second copy of the game, but I'm currently using it to help my mayor get her weeding badge, so I'm not ready to start up a second town officially yet. But I also still enjoy walking around my town and taking care of my villagers, so I'm also worried that when I do start my second town I'm not going to have as much time for my first and that makes me sad. Unfortunately, I have too many ideas bouncing around in my head and I kind of want to try them all. But I'd never get rid of my original town. I love it far too much.
 
i haven't played my main town in a long time, but that's because i'm proud of it and don't feel there's really any more work to be done.
 
Completely honest, I'm ready for New Horizons. I've had my original and only town since 2014 but I haven't played on it in almost a year. I feel my New Leaf experience has taught me a bit on better town planning and not getting overly attached to certain villagers. My town stagnated because of poor town planning and not letting villagers move.

I also will play multiplayer on New Horizons, something I didn't do in New Leaf. Hopefully this adds to my experience.
 
I just opened up my town that a I hadn't played in a year (!) and I think the time away made me love it again. Especially all the villagers, it's a cute collection of some of my favourites.
 
I love all 6 of them, I'm not planning to restart any of them.
But, I will go around fix them up a bit if I see anything that needs to be fixed up.
 
I'm not really satisfied with it. It's in a half finished state. I never reset my game and I've been playing since release so my town has gone through many iterations. Now I just got bored with the game halfway through another redesign of everything so now it's kinda finished in some parts but it's definitely not complete. I dunno if I care enough to finish it before New Horizons comes out though. I already put 3000 hours in New Leaf so it's not like I didn't play it enough yet lol.

I only have one town and I'm satisfied with it. It doesn't have the best layout, I've made a lot of mistakes and it is nowhere close to finish but it what I have to work with. I went in blind and I had no idea that the layout is so important in this game.
 
I'm fine with mine. Though I really need certain pwp's and until villagers suggest some I'm stuck with some empty spaces in my town. I know what pwp's I want and where they're going to go, I'm just waiting until they suggest some.
 
My town is my town and I will never get rid of it. When I started the game I immediately time travelled because I was so enthusiastic I didn't want to wait for my permit and stuff. I went on tbt to trade for the golden tools immediately and to get more stuff. But I felt unhappy. It didn't feel like the old AC I used to love.
So I created a new town, and I decided to take it slow. I love it. It has grown on me so much, the lay-out isn't perfect, the villagers are crap. But they've both grown on me. There still aren't many villagers I wouldn't allow to move, but they're MY villagers. The town is a mess, some areas are completely decorated but most areas are a messy bunch, PWPs are scattered all over, there's random paths, there's dirth patches everwhere... But who cares?

My town is slowly but surely coming together. I'm waiting for Gracie and Katrina because I'd like to upgrade my main street. But hey, I just completed my fossil collection and, since this is my first summer in-game, I just went fishing in the rain and caught like four new ones for my museum.

The whole part of AC, for me, is letting go and letting things happen on their own. I don't want a town completely filled with paths to make sure villagers move in specific places. I don't want to get the best items right away. I don't care if it takes months for an item I want to show up at Nook's... that's how the game works! Take it easy ~ don't worry about having a perfect town, who cares if no one visits my Dream Town? I like my town! It has a special place in my heart and I can't bear to start over. My heart jumps everytime I see the badge-man show up, I love it when I catch a fish/bug I don't own yet. I play hide-and-seek on the island minigames for an hour straight lmao.

Visiting other dream towns and the forums made me, for the first time, realize how creative and perfectionist people are about Animal Crossing - I've played the titles since I was a kid but the WiFi options never worked. It's like a whole new world opened for me, but all the extra options made me feel icky. I don't feel like going to the island every night to catch a bunch of boring beetles, so I don't go there every night. Yeah, it will take me forever to get my house completed, but who cares? I don't need a completed house to be happy. I bought the game in november and I just finished decorating my main room and I have no idea what to do with all the others!

Anyway long story short, I love my current town just because it is messy. I love it despite all the things people don't seem to enjoy - like rocks in places where I want to put my path or villagers moving in in awkward places. That's what makes Animal Crossing Animal Crossing. The randomness and laidbackness of it is what I love. If I had a perfect and completely finished town, I'd probably be bored and don't know what to do anymore. But I'm pretty sure my town will never be completed. There's no deadlines or goals, it's not a race. Just relax and catch some bugs bros

I feel pretty good about my town. There were a couple of moments where I considered resetting because of some minor map layout nitpicks, but I was too attached to the town and villagers and everything I had accomplished, so I never did.
I'm very happy with how it's coming together at this moment and I enjoy working on placing some pwp's and hybrids to make it look nice^^
 
My first town irks me slightly with the map but I have too much done/invested in it to ever reset it. It was the best in my tastes of the four options the very first time I started the game (didn't know about resetting lawl). My biggest peeve though is probably just the character names I made for the other themed houses. It'll be a lot of work to delete and rebuild some of them but I'll probably do it eventually so at least that's fixable. At the time I didn't really consider theming or differentiating the names and was just in a rush to design the houses.

My other two, I made much later into the game and after knowing about resetting/etc. So, I actually really like those maps though second town has a bit of an awkward area to path around.

I feel alright bout mine. Little torn over a few of my villagers if I want to keep them around or not but I recently redid my town a lot and added paths and I feel a lot more confident about the layout.
