How do you decide which flowers/bushes you use to decorate your town with?

Just go with what looks best to you :)

Me personally, I look at pictures and random things like sports logos or something to get a feel for what colors I think would go good together. Then I start finding flowers that match those colors. Once I start putting them down I can tell pretty quickly whether it looks good in-game or not.

It's all a matter of preference, but you really can't go wrong so just pick colors you like and go crazy with it! :3

I think it also depends on which season you like the best. Like I've seen a lot of people going with azaleas when it's cherry blossom season and the azaleas are about to bloom. Or sweet olive in autumn.

I go by colour. So if a particular villager lives near the area I'm decorating I'll try to use bushes and flowers that compliment there house's exterior.

I narrowed mine all down to reds/pinks/purples/whites for Arryire. And I try to get a nice mix or pattern going so they aren't all clumped together. Really just whatever goes with your theme. Bushes you might look into what time of year they all bloom, some people save their dream towns on the same time of year so they all bloom when they save.

I go based off of what I want my bushes to surround, for example I surrounded Tom's house with blue hydrangeas to match with his house and then across from his house I lined my path with saplings and pink hydrangeas to give it some contrast from the dark color of blue (I also surrounded his house with blue flowers). Then behind the line of saplings and pink hydrangeas I have planted purple tulips! You can always visit my dream town if you ever need ideas~ Town: Abstract Mayor: Primrose

My advice would be to pick a color scheme for your town, even just vaguely.

For example, if you wanted your town to be blue and green, you could use that idea as your starting point to choose what kinds of flowers and bushes would match. (In this case, white, blue, yellow, and purple flowers.)

I would also recommend only using a couple of types of bushes in your town - they're all pretty, but a focused approach to bushes can make the town look much neater overall.

In the end, though, go with what you think looks best.

I would start by deciding on a color scheme in terms of flowers. You could do a single color, but two is best for contrast. Three can be tricky, but looks great if done correctly. Some examples: Blue, purple, pink. Blue, purple, white. Pink, yellow, white. Red, pink, white. White works any scheme to brighten or lighten the other colors.

If you want contrast, you'll plant bushes with different colors. Or similar colors for a cohesive looks. Example, white pansies, white roses, and purple violets with blue hydrangeas.

You can also consider your native fruit. A color scheme that complements those pink peaches, or one that contrasts them.

Most importantly, remember that your chosen colors might not look as fantastic in other seasons when the grass is yellow, or there's snow. You can either ignore this, or plan ahead to redecorate with the seasons.

Good luck!

My town is a flowery mess. I usually just place random colors together. As long as they are in a pattern, they turn out pretty well.
