How do you choose landscaping elements?

Do you like to choose a theme to work around or do you just choose things that you like??

I have the hardest time choosing colors of flowers I want to put. X'D I like the idea of a limited color palette in a town but it's really hard to choose. I'm thinking about doing just 2-3 different types of white flowers everywhere ... *__* and maybe have it be winter?

I feel like going with a theme, at least in terms of landscaping and pwps, can be somewhat difficult in this game. So I just go with what I like. And I really like colorful stuff so you can bet my town is colorful in more ways than one with my flower arrangements.

Some people work better with the idea of a theme, though, so just find what makes you happier. Ultimately, you may have to try out both before you realize which one you like most.

I just put stuff where I think it looks good. It's never failed on me yet. If you think a white theme looks good, then by all means, put it to work.

I was going to stick to a base color scheme in Balamb, but then quickly scrapped that plan and just put whatever flowers I think are pretty.

Bunifrey will be done in white, red and pink, though.

My "theme" is just a cozy forest. Almost like a hidden oasis on an island.
So I just put things I like that make it look as lush and beautiful as I can. Like lots of trees+flowers, light posts, benches, etc.

It's just an atmosphere or vibe I try to create, rather than a specific "look".

I dont have a theme right now for the flowers. Im almost done with decorating my village after a long time of planning. After everything is done, i might go and pick a theme for my flower colors cause that is something that is bugging me right now about my village. Right now all my flowers are just the generic ones that you can get in the store. They are just scattered randomly throughout my town. I guess to still have a ways to go now haha.

I like going with a theme. For example: my town's theme is nature based so there's flowers everywhere, the paths are grassy, the bush lined the Botha and there are trees everywhere. No matter where you go, you will see nothing but flowers. So going with a theme helps a lot c:

In terms of flower colours my town is called Lavender so I use mainly purple flowers. But I also like the red/black flowers so I tend to keep a patch of them somewhere in the town.

I just started a wintery town too though, so I'm thinking red and white for flowers this time around.

I visited loads of dream towns to figure out what theme i wanted to go for! Right now I'm using only white, red, and black roses, with a few Jacob's Ladders and gold roses scattered around.

Yeah, pretty much this. You look at something and then go, I'll put that project here or those flowers there and then you're comfortable with the decision. No muss. No fuss.
