How do people have so many bells?

If you're talking about IGB, it's because most people have completed the Stalk Market achievement by now...and if you do it right, you'll have around 11-12 million by the time you achieve it.

well when i first started acnh i caught a bunch of tarantulas,,,sold them to flick,,,but after i reset i was nnnnot gonna go thru all that work again so i bought bells from someone here on tbt w the forum currency! pathetic? maybe! did i have to hunt scorpions/ranchos for 900 hrs again? nope!

Ok thanks guys, because I’m just super curious haha. I must get into the stalk market business 😂

In the beginning, farming tarantulas on islands was super easy and somewhat fast, so a ton of people did that to earn their wealth. I remember my friend's island had a section dedicated to tarantula cages!! But then Nintendo nerfed them, and people went back to the more traditional method of participating in the stalk market! You can buy for really cheap, and sell for insanely high of this form, that's how I got about a few million bells. Also selling furniture, clothing, and other items for IGB is super useful as well!

Early on in the game, I sold foreign fruit, held onto higher-value bugs/fish to sell them to Flick/C.J., and planting money trees (burying 10k to guarantee making 20k).

Nowadays, I still buy turnips (just an inventory full of them, so 40 bundles) and make passive income by crafting and selling Gold Rose Wreaths. I usually don't even bother with finding islands with very high turnip prices, unless my IRL friends and I all have crappy prices.

I have 35 million saved up now.

I did the stalk market thingy but it was hard to keep up with my work schedule so I stopped once I got the last Nook Miles achievement. After that I made money by hoarding materials and then crafting and selling as many hot items of the day to the Nook kids as I could. 🙃

When I first started, I spent hours just fishing. I was making about 35-40k every 20-25 minutes that way. Plus, pre-Bunny Day, Peacock butterflies were spawning in abundance. Those can sell for a pretty penny. The trick is to sell bugs to Flick. Everytime you see a rare butterfly catch it. Fishing and Deep Sea diving is still a great way to make money right now.

That is how I've make most my money in the game. Haven't bothered with turnips because I can't be bothered to deal with the stress of finding an island to sell at.

Another tip is to make use of the free money opportunities per day.

1. You can find 5 wasps per day, each wasp sells for 2,500 at Nook's Cranny, and the nest for 500. That's 15,000 bells a day.

2. You can get 16,000 bells a day from money rock.

3. You can get 20k a day from the money trees.

4. You'll get 4 fossils a day. If not needed by the museum, you can make about 10k a day on these.

That's around 60,000 bells a day or 1,800,000 a month

I have two pumpkin patches that I water everyday so I can get 3 per pick, I still sell the fossils that spawn on my island, I deep sea dive until my pockets are full every other night, and I save my more expensive bugs to sell to Flick. I stopped doing the stalk market on my own, and only make money on it now if my discord friends ping me to let me know their prices are good. I had 16M but spent a lot of it on my side character, so now I’m down to 4M. But I’ll get back up there in no time with these methods.

Gosh here's my timeline:
-first stage: selling non-native fruits, fish, bugs, finding the money rock.
-second stage: selling extra fossils, going on mystery island tours for big fish island, tarantula island, money rock island, etc.
-third stage: made enough to do the stalk market.
The stalk market is how I made millions but you need a nest egg first to buy your first batch haha.

I have around 14mil last time I checked (I just keep it all in the atm till I need to take out more to use it) and I did it by buying and selling turnips :) Is there a nook mile achievement about reaching a certain amount of bells?

back before the tarantula spawn rate was nerfed I'd tarantula hunt most nights and then sell them to Flick if I was patient enough (and just to Nooks if I wasn't). but yeah like most people my main source of income was turnips way back at the beginning, but now I've gotten lazy. I think I also sold a few villagers for IGB before I prioritised other currencies so I had that.

In the beginning, I made my money farming and selling tarantulas. Once the water bugs started spawning and made it annoying to do so, I went on to do the stalk market, which made me the bulk of my money. Enough to fully upgrade 3 character houses and pretty much move all my buildings and houses billions of times each and still have millions left over. I've long since stopped doing the stalk market and now only make my money selling bugs/fish and items, and planting 10k in the gold spots daily only 3-4 characters a day. Then I also have my massive blue rose field, which I can harvest and craft wreaths with, which sell for 20,000 bells each. I'm pretty set bell wise now XD

when i started, i was playing non-stop and was getting 150k bells a day from selling those blue butterflies and other bug/fish

then i decided to start buying and selling turnips and i would get 20million bells each time (i think i explained how i did this before but idk where)

now i either buy bells with tbt or collect up fossils and once i have 20-30, i get them assessed and i sell them to nooks

i think i have 19million because i don't know when to stop spending 😅

With just a few million in the bank, I have more bells than I need, but I've been playing since the game launched. I've never played the stalk market. (Not in New Horizons and not in previous AC games. Simply no interest.) I did buy a turnip, to let it rot because I needed to catch an ant. 😆

That said, I've always enjoyed doing the daily Nook Miles tasks, and the bells I get from selling all those bugs, fishes, fossils etc add up to a pretty penny after a while.

People cheese the stalk market. They don't do it in tbt anymore, but when the game first came out I was seeing people offering low prices on turnips when it was like Wednesday. So all someone had to do was go to that person's island to buy low turnips and then hunt for someone with high turnips and rinse repeat.
