1. Show him youtube videos of guys playing acnl and visiting the horror towns.
2. Ask him what kind of animal he likes then show him the villagers (if it doesnt exist in acnl, then just go to the wikia and show him the list of animals)
3. Show him theres a option to be a male and there's manly stuff in there
4. Animal abuse
5. Furnitures and cool dream towns (escpecially nintendos)
6. If all else fails show him this

I don't see how you absolutely CANNOT break up with him (since you have choice over your life, not anyone else), but yeah, he needs to get mature. If he'll ignore something based on how it looks or the primary demographic, then he deserves to miss out on whatever enjoyment he'd get from it, because that's really shallow of him.

Maybe let him play your game for himself and see how he feels. Or if you have the money, buy the game for him and tell him to play it or he just wasted your money and that would make you very angry
That's probably not the best idea actually... Just see if you can get him to play your game.

If it doesn't go well, some people really just aren't into Animal Crossing and there's no need to try and force someone to play a game they don't like.

Well he bought a 3ds to play vid games with me... he just bought a game I don't have.

Lots of guys plays AC. Chuggaconroy has lots of let's play videos on youtube, and he makes reference to his personal copy of the game, so it's not like he only plays it for the videos.

Do you try video games that he likes, but that you're not particularly interested in? If so, you might be able to use that as leverage to get him to try it. Maybe ask him to play it a certain number of times, and see if it grows on him. I also like the idea of showing him towns with a darker side. He could make a very dark version of the game for himself, if he wants. That's one of the great things about AC. You decide what you're town will be!
