I saw a poll on how things such as banners for titles and cutesy text makes the shop look more reliable, and to me it seems like the case. Any advice on how I could do this and how I could make a successful shop?

Honestly, you don't always need the fancy graphics. As long as your thread is organized, easy to read and understand, you're a nice person and your prices are fair, your shop will most likely do well.

You can always decorate your thread using the font sizes/effects thing (ex bold/underline size 4/5 font for titles) right here on the forum without using a program like Photoshop to do it for you and still make it look nice!

Make sure your shop has a name and is well organized. It's a big turn off if I can't understand what I'm reading so it is important that you choose nice fonts and sizes and colors. Graphics are really nice to have because it makes the shop look more professional and reliable. It means that you have taken the time to put effort into your shop and makes me think that you are less likely to be a scammer. Find good prices also. Don't make things too high priced or too low. Make it a reasonable medium. Also make sure you layout rules that you want your customers to follow. Have a template ready for people to copy and paste to use as an order form. That way it is easy for them to write down all the important information and what they want to order and it makes it easy for you to keep track of your orders as well.

to have a shop, you going to need an idea that is unique and different!
People like a narrow topic that you can specialize on so they know who to go to
make sure you are selling things people need
graphics and stuff are always fun, but using and new font/color also does the trick
also make sure to center your post to make it look neater ^-^

One tip that I'd like to give you if you plan to use different font colors: DON'T USE LIGHT PASTEL FONT. It's INCREDIBLY hard to read, especially if you mix it with size 1 text. No one is gonna enjoy reading a section of your shop that looks like this, So if you really want to mix things up with your font, make sure things are readable upon sight. Even size 1 can look good as long as it's not mixed with a nearly impossible to read color.

Graphics can help immensely with organization as well, but if you're not good with graphics, I'm sure there are users out there who would be willing to help you out. Hell I could probably do it for free. Though, it all really boils down to having things organized, eligible, and easy to understand. You could very easily get away with a shop set up like this:

[Your name here]'s Shop!

Welcome! This is my shop for so and so!

Rules
Don't do this
Don't do that

Available villagers
- Blank
- Blank

You get the picture? It's just all dependent on organization.

THIS IS GREAT

Use bolds instead of bright colours, it looks professional.
Unless you want to be cute, use colours!
