how do events/updates work when you restart ? 🤔

seriously thinking about restarting my island (i must be the only person bitterly disappointed in my lack of rock outcroppings lmfaoo) and am wondering how the added updates function in the game when you do restart?

let's say i restarted and set my clock to april, could i play my way back through all the added events and get the LTO items/DIYs, or would all those things be lost to me ?
specifially i am wondering most about
- DIYS like the picnic set from isabelle
- redd activation process
- wedding event as a whole
- people who have restarted- what did you wish you'd known

any knowledge/help is appreciated, thank you!

just because u delete ur save data doesn't mean u delete all the updates. so if u tt to 3-20-20, you'll still get the young bamboo for the spring seasonal recipes, you'll be able to experience cherry blossom season & get those recipes, you'll be able to go thru the Easter event & everything that has, Redd will come to ur island like he first did, etc. the holiday updates just add the capacity to play them; once you've added it to your game it's there forever.
