How do carts get corrupted?

Yes. I agree. But I still think that it's not Nintendo who needs to consider "fixing" something that isn't broken when it comes to something like the cart. locking system but something the user themselves should consider looking into looking into their neglectful habits.
If you know you are clumsy, either get a wrist strap or don't walk while playing with your 3ds.
Personally, I don't think you should walk with your 3ds on in the first place since you aren't watching where you are going and could hurt yourself or others around you. o.o
And really, it's not good to leave software suspended since it drains battery life... and with batteries that re-charge, they can only go through so many recharge cycles before you are stuck constantly having to be on a charger. Sure that will take a long time with batteries like these but I like to keep my stuff for years and years to come. XP
Also... I have never heard of it getting corrupted with the game just being in it and it just popping out, only if it is saving and it is popping out or if it is playing and it popping out?... but more likely if saving. Not saying it can't, just saying I have never heard of it?
And the animal thing... yeah... they can be a pain sometimes, but if you have an animal you need to take responsibilities of having an animal.
For myself, it is easier for the stylus than the cart to come out... and that could even be a choking hazard... Or really any piece could technically break off if it drops hard enough and on just the right stop.
So not only could you have a corrupt town, you could have a dead animal from them choking on something... It only takes a little bit more time to find a safe spot to plug in your system.
