How did you name and design your mayor?

Some people have characters named after anime characters. Or anime-esque characters with their own names, designing them like OCs. Maybe someone just went with whatever! Maybe someone already had an idea in mind. What about you? How did you name and design your mayor?

For me, I based my mayor on me. She's supposed to be me in the Animal Crossing universe. I have black hair that changes color depending on what color is in my real world hair (or it's just black if I have none, like right now). I don't wear anything I wouldn't wear in the real world--my AC style is my own style.

Because of how young I was when I played the GC Animal Crossing, I thought of my mayor as being a little kid running an imaginary town based off of her friends and people in her life. I based her mostly on what I was like as a little kid and gave her an elementary-style outfit as well as a super childish nickname. The whole town is based around that idea and I love it to bits! <3

i named her adelaine. it sounds elegant and nice
but my old village from 2012-2015, had the name carasol, which was a username i had on roblox
my villager looks nothing like me, and sometimes i wish i called her alice because she looks a little like alice from alice in wonderland, but my town is forest-themed anyway and there's nothing magical about it

I've always given my Mayor my name or my nickname, because when I'm playing and they address me by my name, I feel like they're actually talking directly to me and I find the game more immersive that way.

My mayor is also based on myself but sometimes I dress her up in a way I wouldn't dress because its the animal crossing universe which to me means a whimsical/anything goes kind of world.

I just named my mayor after myself, but I didn't want her to have any of my features. I gave her pink hair and blue eyes because I thought the combination was cute, though I'd never wear the clothes she wears. She's too cutesy to be me irl, I tend to save my secret love of cute things for AC and AC only. It brings out this weird super girly part of me. :v

I always play as male characters, and I named my mayor Claude after Claude Faustus from Black Butler II because I think it's a pretty name.

When I was a little girl I used to love the character Junie B. Jones. I loved her so much; I was always seen reading the books in the library or on random areas of the playground, and I looked a lot like her when I was little. Principals and teachers gave me the nickname Junie (well... they forgot the B, but it stuck with me for 15+ years). That's where my mayor name came from. Her design? I just really love the blushy-face and her appearance is based on mine. Clothing style and all.

Ah, I'm sorry, I didn't see this until now! It's Kratos Aurion from Tales of Symphonia. ;3

I like to see people play characters of the opposite gender. I did play a male once in an MMO and it felt pretty interesting lol. I'm not sure if I'd ever do it in AC though, I feel the clothes for girls are much nicer but I've thought about it.

My mayor is named after me. I wear things that are similar to what I would wear in real life as much as possible...

My character is actually an OC of mine. She believes herself to be the moon princess, that's why her hair is dyed blue. I enjoy putting her outfits together but it's hard to find stuff in cooler colors that doesn't look too edgy and fits her. I usually have her wearing the fireworks boppers or moon/star hairpin.

My first town was based off me, and my town name was from a random generator lol.

Since I've restarted, I wanted it more like a story (ie. all my side characters have a story of their own, but are all connected with the mayor sort of thing) I think it really helps with making the game more interesting instead of just playing on the mayor I play on side characters and when I do I feel like they have their own personality sort of thing ^^

Pun is a general character name I use for characters that would end up interacting with other characters, with some form of story behind it. Obviously derived from my handle, Punisher, but Pun, alone, stuck quite well. The design of my character? Well, it was up in the air. I started with a loose and wavy hairstyle from a friend's shampoodle, and when mine came in, I was wondering why it wasn't changing after a few weeks. So I decided to make my hair light blue. Needless to say, it looked great, especially at night. The clothing? Ah, partially off of how I dress, at least during the winter. During the summer, I like to go for a full harmonious look, to match my home, with the iconic blue cap that seems to complete my look.

I picked kaia because I thought that the name was nice and I based my mayor off of my past mayor that got deleted and she was a kind of angel and then my mayor kinda just turned into a normal person over time

I named my mayor Aspyn, like Aspen. I want my town to be nature-y, so I named my mayor after a tree. I designed her after a doll I have in my room, who's hair I dyed pink. I have this strange thing where I feel compelled to have something that looks like a character. For Christmas I'm getting Poppy custom made on Etsy, because I felt compelled to do so.
