How did you landscape the front of your mayor's house?

Hi, I have a natural town with stone paths.

When I first started the game I built the fountain in front of my house to prevent any villager moving there.

It looked a bit out of place since I went for an alpine feel with my mayor's house so I've asked Isabelle to destroyed it.

Now I need ideas. Please post pictures or describe which PWP you have in front of your house and how you designed around it.

Come on, show off and inspire me LOL

I have plans on putting two flower beds in front of my house, I'm just hoping they fit when I get the request for the flower bed.

As you can see in the map, my house is isolated in the left corner. It doesn't show in the map, but that bridge next to it was demolished a few hours ago. What I did was build a fountain in front of it, but not right in front, just enough so a new villager wouldn't put their house there.

As for other PWP, you can see I build the yellow bench close to it and I think it looks rather nice. I plan to build two of those, one at each side, if there is enough space:

And well, there is the pattern path, which I don't really like the looks of it and I will change tomorrow once Able Sisters open their store. I was trying the darker look but I want my town to be more colorful and vivid.

Thank you that's very useful. That's about where I built the fountain as well but it will be gone tomorrow. Leaving a big dirt patch in it's stead :( SO actually I think I may have to plant flowers there and water them every day for the grass to grow back :(

I have a fountain several spaces down from house. It'll go later, more than likely. Instead, I intend to add the wisteria trellis. Just not sure how close I want it.

You visited my DA! I'll go visit yours now, I've been meaning to every time I see your siggy.

I will update mine soon, so much has changed in the past few weeks.

In front of my mayor's house, there is a zen garden that's surrounded by perfect orange trees. Roscoe and Merengue live extremely close by-- with Roscoe's front lawn covered in red/yellow flowers, and Merengue's covered in white flowers.

I just have a small hedge arrangement (Holly), some perfect apple trees (two on the sides and then about 3-4 behind the house in front of the river), and then a alternating arrangement of white roses and lilies, with a few jacob's ladders thrown in. I added a sort of stream pattern like a moat around the house with a little wooden bridge in front of the door, and whenever I get the pwp requested I want to add two statue fountains on either side of the walkway leading up to my house.

My house is sandwiched between the river, the waterfall, and the beach cliff, so there's not a lot of room to work with. My house is a pink & white castle type of thing, so I decorated with lots of pink & white flowers, peach trees, and a wood bench overlooking the beach.

I might post pictures later if I remember, but feel free to visit the DA in my signature as well. ;)

I'm planning on using a wisteria trellis right in front of the house, and then two ancient fountains on either side of the trellis too! I think it will look great!

I've only got pink and white lilies around the house and then a money tree on each side... because cash money swag...

I feel like I should put some pwp in front of my house, but I don't know what. ~__~ I don't really have any options that'd work nicely at the moment anyway.

My house is in the grove of a bending river. I have a well to the left of it, with the river behind and to the right, and a natural path enclosed by fruit trees leading up to the front door, with a dense fruit tree forest beyond the path <3

I have gold roses in 2 flower gardens in front of my house with an orange tree in the middle of each. Then a put the path that goes up to my house between them and outlined the flower gardens with the same border. I don't have alot of space in front of my house so the options are limited. I guess its the trade-off I made so that another house wouldn't get dropped down in front of my house.

I framed the house with Perfect Apple trees and then a little to the left I built a lamp and surrounded it with pink cosmos. My house is right next to the river to the left so thought it was pretty. Hoping the pink cosmos or if I replace them or add in another colour will cover more ground soon, so it's a nice little garden. I never thought about having any pwp's right infront of the house though.

Both of my houses are near the beach cliff, so it limits what I can do for a front yard. I plan to make an enclosed garden area next to my house in Salem, but I'm still waiting to decide on the exterior for that.

Hollowyn's houses are all finished. I'm tucked in at the corner of the beach cliff, but set back a little further from the edge.

The house is currently surrounded by purple roses and pink tulips, but I might change the colors, to coordinate with the arch, although I don't think the colors clash too much. I also wanted to put a bench in front of the arch, but there isn't enough room. I might try for a special stump, instead.

My house is just below the station, which is actually okay to me because I don't have to run super far to get to the shops/etc. lmao. I have a fountain in front of it and gold roses/trees and bushes surrounding it. And the little fenced off area next to it and 2 street lamps kind of infront of it. In hindsight I probably wouldn't do the fountain in front of it if I were to do it again, but eh, I don't feel like revamping that whole section of my town. I've got a large open area to work with now anyway as I finally learned the art of plot resetting and got my villagers' houses to be mostly all in one area :)

I did? Oh, I did! You either have a Tumblr, or pictures of your town on ACNL Homes. I creep both for DA's to visit. ^^

My house is horrid. Filled with saplings and bush starts--so when I do start landscaping, I'll have plenty to start with.

If I may, how far is your flower arch from the front of your house? I think the wisteria trellis would look nice about that far away.

Mine has blue hydrangea bushes one space out from the house and the space between is filled with blue violets. It makes a sort of symbolic moat.

But Lucky's house is in front of it. He's one of my dreamies. I don't recommend that.

My house in my main town is very close to the plaza, so no PWPs can be fit in front of it, really (at least none of the ones I'd like to use). I ran a hedge border around it and filled the inside/outside with my favorite hybrids.

In my secondary, I have villagers living in front of my house, however they're not spaced evenly so my pathing looks kinda wonky and it's driving me crazy. >_>
