Mine are probably silly-sounding to others, but for me they all have personal meanings. I name my towns and mayors after my ancestors, most whom I never knew and lived and/or died sadly and I want to honour them. I also chose a couple of family surnames that would fit and a couple fit together.
Roseberg - after my g-grandmother Rose and just threw 'berg' on the end
MaeRose - after my g-grandmother and my paternal grandmother
MaudRoss - after my paternal step-grandmother whose story is too sad for words and I wish to honour her
WolfKott - two family surnames
WolfRoss - family surname and step-grandmother's maiden name
Wolfberg - surname with 'berg' at the end
Chambers - gg-grandmother's maiden name
Hmmm...lots of "Wolf"s there! Well, at least it's short and it fits.
"Kott" doesn't fit with anything and I cant add "berg" to it or it would sound TOO dumb even to me, and a "ville" or "shire" or "town" or "berg" wouldn't fit.
